Hong Kong: Old-School Bing Sutt Starbucks Coffee @ Central

Hong Kong: Old School Starbucks Coffee @ Central – One of the coolest place in Hong Kong to me is the old-school style designed Starbucks Coffee outlet located at Central area. I went there last year, and it was in one of my visiting list. What’s so special about this Starbucks Coffee outlet is the old-school Hong Kong coffee house design which local called it 冰室 (Bing Sutt).

This is a good blend of western coffee in to local Hong Kong culture. Although, the original Bing Sutt (Hong Kong’s kopitiam) design was not so dim, yet it brings out a warm, relaxing and mysterious feeling in the cafe.

It was full of people. It’s an attraction in my opinion and it has a unique Starbucks Coffee design. Mom went to shopping around Central area and me, dad and brother were enjoying a hot brew of coffee here.

It’s a little bit hard to spot out at Central area as you have to turn into a street and walk up a flight of stairs. Anyway, I’ve included a map below for your reference. =)

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

糖百府港式甜品 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts – Went to Paradigm Mall today after class as I have a long break in between the next class and tried the Hong Kong desserts shop – Tong Pak Fu. This one is the real desserts franchise from Hong Kong, not to be confuse with the Penang-made Snowman Tang Bo Fu.

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

There’s various outlet of Tong Pak Fu in Malaysia, you can find it in Suria KLCC, Empire Shopping Gallery, Paradigm Mall and soon opening in Penang too! Tong Pak Fu serves a variety of Hong Kong desserts like Mango desserts, sesame paste, walnut paste, beverages and more icy desserts. There’s curry fish ball too!

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

We were really too free and spent about an hour plus at there. Taylor’s U is kinda stupid lately because they arranged my timetable in a poor manner. We have an hour class in the morning and in between we have about 6 hours break. What to do? Eat Tong Pak Fu. Check out the desserts that we have ordered.

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

Mango Fluffy Ice Series. RM8.80 for regular, the ice is very nice, love the pop eggs too, but not the tasteless Nata de Coco. It would be better with real mango cube. But overall, acceptable. =D

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

Horlicks Fluffy Ice Series. RM11.80 for Large. Pretty nice with grass jelly topping and the taste of horlicks in the ice is very strong. Good for horlicks fans.

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

Red Bean Paste. RM4.80. According to my friend Jia Hui, she said this is not good. The taste is weird and too saturated.

糖百府 Tong Pak Fu Hong Kong Desserts

Sesame Ball. RM5.80. Basically, this is plain glutinous rice ball tang yuan with sesame topping. It would be awesome if there’s filling inside.

Well, I have got to say they are so-so only, the pictures in the menu do indeed look awesome, but taste wise is just normal. I would prefer Hui Lau Shan for mango and KTZ for sesame paste. =D However, the fluffy ice is very cool here.

  • Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends

Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends

Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends – Back to KL, different lifestyle back here, no more heritage seeing, cycling, sunset/sunrise searching and street food, life in the city is always shopping mall, driving, restaurants and that’s it. Different place, different style of life.

Afternoon Lunch At Kim Gary With Friends

So, Sunday went to where? Went to Ikea, went to eat Kim Gary at The Curve – the kidnap mall with friends from, err, everywhere, Connie from Sandakan? Henry from Johor Bahru? Arvin Medan, Indonesia? Only Laiquen, the only KL local. Haha.

Super crowded at Ikea and The Curve and spent almost half of our afternoon in Kim Gary Restaurant. It’d been ages since I’ve visited Kim Gary Restaurant. Last time I used to visit it all the time when I was in Penang, but now very seldom already.

After eating until so full, we went Ikea for a while. I think there’s more people shopping in Ikea than at Tesco at that time. I’m starting to get bored of Ikea already because I’ve been there for so many time and I know where is what and the price. Haha. Although it’s boring, I still bought stuff, some storage box and a Golden Gate Bridge poster (will share other time when my room is clean XD). Well, I am waiting for a new term of Ikea catalogue (2013), guess soon already?

Anyway, check out the food we had today, not reviewing, just some food p0rn for you. =)
