What I have been busy lately is catching up with Fringe, a new science fiction American TV series. It’s already showing episode 10 in United States last week and I am now on episode 5. 5 more episodes to go to catch up with the same premiere day in the US. Fringe is premiere on every Tuesday (USA time) and available for download the next day which is Wednesday here in Malaysia or some other part in Asia.
Fringe follows the exploits of FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham, scientist Walter Bishop, and his son Peter as they investigate aspects of fringe science (telepathy, levitation, invisibility, reanimation, genetic mutation, etc). All over the world, a series of apparent experiments collectively referred to as “the Pattern” (e.g., a newborn baby who rapidly ages and dies within a few hours, a bus full of passengers trapped in a strange substance like mosquitoes in amber) are occurring for reasons unknown. Olivia, Peter, and Walter are in charge of investigating these strange events to determine their source. Connected to the Pattern is a company called Massive Dynamic, which is a leading global research company that holds the patents for a number of new and important technologies. Throughout the first half of the first season, Mitchell Loeb, a rogue FBI agent, orchestrates some of these events as part of a larger plan to break a man out of prison and kidnap Olivia. This TV series is produced by J.J. Abrams, the same producer of Lost, one of my favourite TV series too and also for the film Cloverfield. This is a sci-fi TV series, I love sci-fi, something like X Files, Lost are pretty nice. Be sure to check it out.
