It’s Guangzhou time. It had been 3 months that I’ve came back from Guangzhou, stucked up with a lot of laziness and now the lazy bud is off. Cut the stupir reason and crap and let’s go into Guangzhou.
I didn’t really take any photos with my DSLR in the airport because before landing, the crew told us that we are allow to take any photos in the airport so I obeyed the rules and regulation. Though, I believe there’s some shot taken with my phone, I need to go dig it up because I always lazy to transfer the photo from phone to computer.
We landed like after a 2 hours flight from Bangkok to Guangzhou. First thing we did is go to the nearest washroom because my brother told me that the washroom is the nearest place that can feel the outside temperate as there’s window. I went in, reached my hands out the window and it feels, not very cold.
Something that I didn’t feel comfortable with is that the cars were moving in a opposite direction because the road system not follow the European standard which Malaysia does. So the driver’s seat is on the left instead of right.
We met up with our driver, a friendly Cantonese who is a friend of my dad’s friend who drives people from airport.
I changed my Maxis SIM card to a Chinese SIM card that my dad’s friend got for us a few months back and then I tried to locate myself via the GPS. So nice that there’s Guangzhou’s map in my phone but it was sucking my phone battery very fast. It’s just for fun.
It’s takes around 40 minutes for us to reach our hotel which is not really in downtown. Until now, I don’t really know is there’s a downtown in Guangzhou, I only know that Guangzhou is divided in many district and our hotel, Holiday Inn Shifu is in Liwan District.
Holiday Inn Shifu is located in a ideal location as it’s on the famous Shang Xia Jiu Pedestrian Street (上下九步行街）, a street full of shops, restaurants and it’s only for pedestrian and no cars. This is more likely a tourist spot but the ratio of local to tourist is like 8 to 2. People is just everywhere in China.
Hotel rate was not expensive, with big room and big beds. 4 of us stayed in only one room. You will never find big room at such low price rate in Singapore, I don’t know why I will mention the name, Singapore, I only know that accomodation in Singapore is expensive.
