It’s a yearly routine that the whole family goes to Pengkalan Hulu at Perak during the second day of Chinese New Year. They love the peaceful environment of the little county there but not to me. Although it’s quiet, it’s a good relaxing place, but no Internet acess at my uncle’s house there means totally boring.

This year was just simple, we went there and eat together. =) That’s all, nothing much, no fireworks, no firecrackers, only eat and sleep.
It’s not a hot day, when it’s not sunny, it’s good to take a walk, but it’s not nice for photography. Just went a walk at around 4pm outside the road. There’s not many cars moving on the road, so crossing the road make easy.
Let me guess, the entertainment there is interacting with locals, eating, sleeping, work, TV, Internet, fishing, jogging and hiking. Look at the tourist trail, it’s not around the corner, unless you take a healthy jog there. This place is near to the Thailand border too, I’ve been there once, but not this time because I got no Passport with me.
There’s also a hot spring but it needs a 45 minutes car ride to reach there.
Commercial area of Pengkalan Hulu is very easy to define and locate, there’s one big main street with all the shop lots and shop houses, that’s all. This is the main street.
By the way, it takes approximately one and a half hour to reach there by car from Penang.
