Lomography is Not Cheap, But I Like
Written by Nicholas Chan on November 28, 2009 – 2:18 am -I kept my two toy camera, a Holga and Diana F+ with Fisheye in the cupboard for a long time because I didn’t really have to time to take out to shoot but recently, I brought them out and shoot all the shots I’ve left in the film.
After getting the film to processed, and saw the outcome, my interest came back again. Have been surfing and checking out a lot of toy camera lately and my shopping and wish list increases.
OMG! I am so poor right now. Toy camera is cheap, the build quality is also cheap but I tell you what, it’s not a cheap hobby! Because you will have to spend for films, different type of films, send to shop to process, then scan into digital, it will be expensive.
Well, if you are into it, feeling arts, be sure you save a lot of money, earn a lot of money and never count how much you have spent, it will be a lot.
More shots are coming, don’t wanna post it all once. Not fun. Haha. By the way, the above shot is I did the scan from negative myself. Not bad right?

My another Lomo camera, Holga 120N
Written by Nicholas Chan on February 1, 2009 – 3:23 pm -Look! I got another Lomography toy camera here and that is the Holga 120N. I bought it nowhere here or there but on the Internet from RUGift.com for $29 (+$20 shipping fee). It took 3 weeks to arrive at my doorstep and it’s cheaper than my Diana F+. Now my Diana F+ works as a fish eye Lomo camera and this work for normal Lomo shots.
The packaging is not as pretty as the Diana F+ that I got from Guangzhou, it’s just a little box with a manual on a piece of paper, the camera itself and the film frame. That’s all, no merchandise or whatsoever like in the Diana F+. Happy lomo-ing. Processing the film is the bad part of playing lomography because the processing fee is high. Oh my god.

Bought a USB Fridge for RM10
Written by Nicholas Chan on January 12, 2009 – 12:37 am -I was acompanying mom for a little window shopping in Gurney Plaza on Sunday. I went to walk on my own later then and there’s nothing much for me to see and do there. I did bump up with a few friends and eventually went to Red Box. Not talking about Red Box this time but I want to say that I just bought a USB refrigerator for only RM10.
I didn’t know about the USB fridge, I thought it was just some laptop and camera booth selling computer peripherals and camera gear, then my friend text me and told me that there’s this USB fridge selling for only RM10. It’s the price that attracted me to get one for myself. I remember the last time I saw it was around RM30.
While stock last for that and it’s over for that because the booth is already disappeared at this moment.
The promoter told me that this USB fridge is made by HP and there’s a HP sticker on it. Don’t think I am a stupid or what, HP doesn’t do USB fridge, it’s just a USB toy which is Made In China, I am sure you can find a lot of the similar one in Guangzhou or Shenzhen or make a search on Alibaba.
So I took away the sticker. =)
I can nicely fit a can of Coke inside, keep it cool or cool it. It’s just a simple cooling plate at the bottom of it, connect it into a USB port of your computer and it will start the cooling job. The lousy part is it takes like forever to cool a room temperature can. I’ll just have to leave it there as I leave my PC on all the time. At this moment, I have sweets inside instead of a Coke.
It’s a toy, not a real fridge.
