Singing Tong Hua Together In Class 5SA1

Written by Nicholas Chan on November 2, 2009 – 8:23 pm -

It’s always nice to see the whole class unite and do something, work out something together. Last Thursday, my friend brought a guitar to school. At first, we were just asking him to play some tunes and sooner, more and more people gather around and started to sing.

The song that made everyone in class sings was Tong Hua (the song by Guang Liang). There’s no teacher in class, only then we can do things like this.

Singing is fun!

Chung Ling Singing Competition 2009

Written by Nicholas Chan on August 13, 2009 – 12:12 am -

The school’s Choir Club organizes a singing competition every year since two years back. Ever since they had started this competition, I did go to try out for audition, first was for fun, then it’s just to try my braveness and this year was to get some comment on my singing from the judges. Well, of course I did not sing well and they asked me to practice more and don’t shout. Haha.

Last Saturday, the singing competition came to the final round with I don’t really know how many contestants were in it but I know Liang Sun, my classmate of 4SA5 was there to sing. I went there for support and to see how’s the competition was since I was so free on that day.

I missed the first few contestants and it was lower form first only then to the upper form.

Frankly speaking, the competition was not cool. There’s not many people in the hall and the stage decoration was kinda ugly with lousy lighting and not-so-good sound system, it’s not anything near to Leo Idol.

Liang Sun, my friend.

Anyway, hopefully it will be better next year. The entrance ticket to see this singing competition was RM4 and I would say it’s expensive, they had also raised the fee for joining the competition at first from RM2 to RM3. A good way to raise fund for club. Hehe.

There’s 3 judges who I don’t really know about them. They gave comment after a few contestants had done their singing. Well, I didn’t really listen to what the judges said, I was there like talking to my friends and waiting for my friend, Liang Sun to come on stage.

Lek Jian of my form’s.

She’s cute.

He’s real good.

Some were really good and some were so-so only. I don’t really want to judge people’s singing because I admit that I am pretty bad in singing, but I do love singing a lot! Hehe.

After all the contestants have came out, there’s a voting session which was needed to pick the “Most Favourite Contestant Award”. We took a lot of the tickets from one of the Choir Club member and filled it up with Liang Sun’s number but then somehow there’s a Form 6 guy got a higher vote than him. Ah, sad.

There’s a few performances which were quite not interesting. A Form 6 guy who joined the Teen Idol outside came to make some polling for himself. Since he is a Chung Ling person, I should help him do a little bit of advertising here (SMS T1<space>M14, SEND TO 36611). Just supporting a Chung Ling boy, I did not send the text (yet) by the way.

It then went on with a prize giving ceremony, none of the Form 5s and 4s got the first, second or third, it’s just consulation prize for them. Sigh. One thing I don’t like was that the MC for the event where from the 6th Form and they only introduces the Form 6 contestants on stage. My god, it’s over now.

Red Box Friday Before Mid Year Holiday

Written by Nicholas Chan on June 9, 2009 – 5:17 pm -

I think going to Red Box on the day before school holiday and on the last day of school exam has became one of our school culture. Just right after the mid year exam recently and also before the mid year school holiday, I and bunch of ex-4SA5 class of 2008 classmate went to Red Box karaoke. It’s again a school friends get-together and gathering.

Sharing with you guys is some photos taken in the Red Box karaoke room.

Me and Arron.

We sang from like 3pm till 6pm and there’s like 8 of us. The price for per person is RM9+, a student price for afternoon high-tea K. We got 2 glasses of beverage each.

Chien Chern he is.

Zez Chien with the mic.

Arron doing he sad face.

Chien Chern again, with a middle finger of honour. LOL

My blur look.

I feel taking photos in black and white in a dark room with flash is pretty cool. With coloured, it’s a little bit not nice, that’s what I feel.

And after singing, we just went around walking in the mall. Did nothing, just walk, and talk.

Astro Golden Melodies Singing Competition Concert at Penang Times Square

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 24, 2009 – 6:30 pm -

It was last last last Friday. It’s not a coincidence that we bumped up with this Astro Golden Melodies Singing Competition Concert at Penang Times Square but it was mom who wanted to go and take a look.

So, we went there for dinner at Roti Bakar Kopitiam and later we joined them standing among the small crowds who were there to see the concert. It’s little concert organized by Astro inconjunction with their Chinese Golden Melodies Singing Competition which has just ended last Saturday at Genting Highland.

I didn’t watch the show but my parents did.

There like hundreds of people or perhaps a thousand. That’s the crowds at the little concert, held at the open side area of Penang Times Square.

The whole thing started at 8.30pm till 11pm. We were having dinner at Roti Bakar which can overlook the stage. However, the hearing from there was poor so after billing, we went close to the stage.

IMG_3480 by you.

It bored me some times because I am not interested in this. I was just standing there, seeing and looking around and everywhere.

Then I met the Malaysia’s fast food chain, Marrybrown’s mascot moving around. We took a photo together.

I walked around again. Then took a few photos of me, brother and his girlfriend.

Here’s me and my brother, Yikhung.

One thing I want to say about Penang Times Square is the multistory carpark is weird, then turning that goes up to the carpark is squared instead like like a spiral. Which makes driving up to the carparks feels uncomfortable.

Red Box Gathering with Old 4SA5 Friends

Written by Nicholas Chan on April 19, 2009 – 10:51 pm -

Although we have been to different class this year, but we still get a chance to meet in school and also go outing some times. I really miss last year’s classmate because last year was really a very great year.

Still remember that we often go to Red Box together on Friday after school, it was so fun. We did it again last Friday. Although everyone was not there, but it’s a nice Friday afternoon singing gathering.

Attendees were Arron, Zez Chien, Liang Sun, Cheong Kin, Chien Chern, Zheng Feng, Fang Jiunn a.k.a. Tallguy and a non-4SA5 visitor, Edmond.

They all went there by bus and myself went there by foot because I went home after school and they went right away after school.

This was the time that we sang the most English song more than Mandarin song. I can’t sing well but it was still fun, shouting and screaming along.

We met Jerry there at Red Box too who was celebrating his birthday with his friends. We went to find him to take a group shot.

We then went back to our room to continue our singing. It was a long 3 hours karaoke session from 3pm to 6pm.

There’s no girls in the room and they made some stupid pose for the camera. There were actually more but it’s not suitable and right to post online. Not gay, it’s just being LOL.
