Video: Don’t Eat My Pringles
Written by Nicholas Chan on October 10, 2009 – 1:28 am -This is a video submission for the contest by Nuffnang and Pringles.
We spent like a very long time in the school toilet, a little bit yucky but it’s very clean because we went there after the school cleaner went to clean it. After shooting for a long long time, the video is out and it’s only less than a minute. Enjoy.
Funny part is still the NG part and behind the scene. Hahaha.
It’s krrunch time, get playful.

Vogue Model Search Audition at Queensbay Mall
Written by Nicholas Chan on April 20, 2009 – 11:39 pm -There’s a Vogue Model Search event going on at Queensbay Mall lately. Last week was Semi Final and this weekend will be the Final of this model search. Two weeks ago, I was at Queensbay Mall doing some window shopping with friend and I bumped up with this Vogue Model Search audition.
Since I got some times there, so I got myself into the crowds to take some photograph of the male model search. I can’t stay back long for the female model search audition because it was late for me already.
So nice that the judges got free Starbucks Ice Blended Frapuccino. I got no idea who the judges were as I am not into the modeling world.
It’s not all that I’ve got. It’s just some better looking photos that I’ve picked from the my album, I am not good in runway photography , or in fact this was my first time and I didn’t really bring my gear there too. Sorry for the excuses, I am not pro yet. =) Comments and feedbacks are very welcome. I love to learn more.
Everyone on stage was good looking and handsome and I wondered why I am not. Haha.
With me that day were Alvin and Wei Chung. Alvin was there shooting too but Wei Chung was there just to see what’s going on.

Food Review Session at Karaikudi Indian Restaurant
Written by Nicholas Chan on March 28, 2009 – 2:04 am -Last weekend, I went to an Indian Cuisine restaurant in town named Karaikudi to do a food testing and review. I sounds so professional but in fact I am not. It’s just food blogger doing a food testing session and to help promote the restaurant actually.
This was my 2nd food review session but my first post in in my food blog. I didn’t post the review for the first food review session because I got it over too long and didn’t jot down the food name and now I got no inspiration to write it. Now I know that after doing such a review session, I shall write it and post it up within two weeks.
I’m writing this just to show some behind the scene. I was the youngest food blogger among all those big man and big woman. They are friendly person and I first met them at the food blogger gathering last year. Once in a while, there will be gathering and eat-together session again.
This happened on last Saturday night, mom dropped me off at Market Street in Little India and I strolled along the road to look for the restaurant and I found it.
The manager booked the second floor for us this food review session and there’s 10 food bloggers include myself.
There’s a so called “test paper” which stressed us because we need to write our comment right away after trying the food. It’s not really hard, it’s just that we tend to write our review on our comfy chair at home and not on the spot without people looking at what you are writing. It just a feedback for the restaurant manager and I found it useful for me to jot down some notes so that I can have a reference when writing my blog post at home.
Photo shooting behind the scene. It’s always best to have one set of food for eat and another set for photo because taking photograph of a food takes time. Hehe.
He is Steven Goh by the way.
Thanks PenangTuaPui and the restaurant for the invitation. Hopefully, there will be more food review for me as it’s good to try new food.

Shooting at Blue Wall of Gurney Plaza
Written by Nicholas Chan on February 25, 2009 – 11:39 pm -In case you are wondering where the blue background or blue wall from the photos of the Board Of Director of Leo Club of Chung Ling High School is, it’s actually the back of Gurney Plaza’s New Wing. I am not sure is the blue wall still there or not. It was last year when the New Wing opened, there’s actually blue sheet which covered some of the store which was still under renovation. We used it for our plain background.
However, lighting was not so good at there. We did catch some attention from the passers by, they looked at us and perhaps thinking which modelling agency we were from. Haha.
Now you get some idea of our work behind the scene. =)
If you are looking for backdrops, you can check out at Kamdar or Mydin.

Taking Photos in School for Chung Ling Graduation Magazine
Written by Nicholas Chan on February 25, 2009 – 1:34 am -This year is my last year in school, meaning that I’ll be graduating high school in 8 months time. I am now part of the team of the Graduation Magazine Committee and I am in charge of photography which will include taking, arranging and compiling photos which are related to this graduation magazine or our very own year book.
Last two weeks had been busy for everyone because photos of each CCA clubs, societies, uniformed unit, sports club, class photos and whatever photos were taken. It was taken by the school Photography Club and what I did was just arranging the time table for which comes first and next, I did not do much but my partner had worked a lot on it. =) I was lazy.

(Photography Club and teacher.)
Seriously, I don’t like the serious look on the Photography Club member because photography are meant to be fun and to capture everyone’s happy face on it, but the Photography Club people was like no smile on their face and “3, 2, 1. Ok, one more time. 3, 2, 1. Thank you”. I don’t really care about how neat one is wearing, the main subject in the photo is focus on the face and not really on other part of the body. Furthermore, everyone is just wearing the same uniform, tie and pants. Photography Club was too serious on everything which made the photography session boring. I did not go with them because I tend to work alone of with someone close. =)
During the whole photography week, all Form 5 students have to wear the school uniform and a pair of long white pants which is actually meant for prefects and monitors but during that time, everyone has to wear the long white pants, doesn’t care you have it or not, you have to wear it, either you buy it, or borrow from other friend who has it. Thanks Tee Jin for lending me his.
(Kaypo/Busybody people looking from their class windows.)
The school camera setup was a Digipod tripod, Canon 450D set at Auto and M size. =)
Everyone loves this photography session because it’s a time that we get to go out of class, some join a few CCA clubs, so has to go out a few times.
(Discussing behind the scene)
All these photos taken by the Photography Club are needed by us for the usage in the graduation magazine. The Photographing Team from the graduation magazine include me, Tee Jin, Yu Jin and Young Hean. I work more on taking photos then paper work. I’ll share my work soon.
(Another behind the scene)
(I don’t know your name, please clarify here if you see this. Hehe)
(Behind the scene)
Nowadays, everyone really loves taking photos. Some people who is not the club’s member but then still appear in the club’s group photo. That’s the fun part of it. It doesn’t matter which club you are in, as long as they are happy, then you are in.
Talking about money, each head in a group photo pays RM1, if the group photo has 30 persons, so meaning that RM30 has to be collected and the printed size of the photo is 4R. Personally, I think it’s a little bit too expensive for such a small size.
(Preview. The hardest part is to align the photo, I can’t have all of them in wide format.)
Just forget about it, every thing is over right now, my next job is to take photos of the school scenery and facilities.
By the way, above is the school graduation magazine team and the lovely teacher advisor. Hi, teacher.
