Many many weeks ago, I was invited to Hennessy Artistry at QE2. Thanks to Yong Xiang who referred me to Hennessy’s PR people. I was pretty excited because going to an inviting-based event and first time stomping into the clubbing scene. I am not a clubber, but I do go to club, just for fun and look around. Haha.

I asked along Alvin, Jin, Arron (via yiphing.net), Boo Teik and Chien Chern to go there too. It seems pretty interesting because it’s my first time going to such event and QE2. Have been living in Penang for so many years but it’s my first time going to QE2. It’s more likely a pub/restaurant/club, facing the sea.

Cool stuff is that we need not to queue up long like others who register through the website for pass. We’re bloggers and there’s special lane for us.

Though, looking at the list, I did not see many Penang bloggers at there. Where’s all the Penang bloggers?

Upon registration, we get a paper band as passes to go in. Red color are for media/blogger which can access VIP and media area.

Regarding my bald head, I just came out from National Service not long ago. Haha. And I was already partying.

It’s pretty high tech now. There’s a TV showing tweets of people who tweeted about the event, I tried to get mine on but it’s loading slow. Do follow my Twitter. =)

The upper level is for media/blogger/VIP. Though, hardly find any familiar faces there. I know too little people.

Best thing of the night was not the music, or dancing as there’s not any dance floor at there, it’s the Hennessy that rocks, mixing with different mixer, apple, lime, coke or just plain water. Apple and lime were good. =D And one thing, it’s free flow!

Because of free flow, early early at night already can see people down on the floor already. I am not a heavy drinker, I can’t drink much too. Don’t laugh me. Haha.

Basically, people just enjoy drinking that night, and a little big of music and rapping by Joe Flizzow, Sona One and Ad Bangers.

It’s so freaking crowded and happenings in there. Want to move around also hard and one thing, it’s pretty warm that night as it’s open air, facing the sea. Sea breeze was not enough to breeze us up too. Sweating.

There’s also a food corner where the chef make food with Hennessy VSOP, though we didn’t get a chance to try it because the queue and waiting was damn long. We were so not patience.

The free flow ended some time and we decided to leave that place as nothing much to do at there already. We were there just to see see and not get drunk. So we went somewhere else.

Well, it’s kinda rocks and like it. If any of you PR people do need blogger to attend your event, contact me. =D Hahaha.

Well the main thing is still about the day. It’s steamboat lunch and I have been eating steamboat a lot! This was already the 3rd time in these two months. The first was with Chien Chern them, then with my class, then now at Chaiwei’s place. I dislike steamboat last time, somehow it’s getting fun where you can play with food in the soup, ha! But then, I’m getting a little bit bored of it, it’s time to go for something else, BBQ perhaps?

Although there’s so many food in my class, the most unpopular food and least taken by student was the Char Bee Hoon. There’s 3 little container of it and everyone don’t seems to bother about it.

It’s all started with Jin Jie and Beng Tian who take the container each and eat them byself. Only then, they walked around and started putting Char Bee Hoon into people’s mouth. Those who came from other class have to had a mouthful of Char Bee Hoon only then can proceed to eat other food in our class or before leaving our class. This is a good way for not wasting food.

After a bunch of teachers moving in and out of the class, it’s our turn to get our hands dirty on the food. To show our respect, we let them to eat first while staring (strategy to keep food for ourself), after they can’t stand with our starring, they will move away from the class and say thank you and it’s our time to eat. Wahahaha.

Wonder who was the one who think that idea out. It’ just a joke.

Nothing much we did about except walking to and back to the food table for more and more food. It’s for filling the stomach, eating out the RM20 we paid and tried all the food we had. There’s too many and it’s just like a buffet, just with less volume of food and no fancy decoration.

Oh my god, this is so cute, Jing Xiang sure had a very good appetite that morning.

So I went to the food counter a total of 4 times to eat all the food, the rest were just refilling drinks and eat some light desserts like cake and fruits.

So what we had two weeks ago, on a Friday was the postponed Teacher’s Day Celebration Day and it’s party in every class or it’s more likely a popluck. It’s not really party, it’s eating but yet there’s still fun when everyone were full.

Our class had a popluck party, other classes too but I guess my class had the most food with more than 13 foods to choose from. Some classes students paid RM15 each and ordered catering and there’s like only 7 food while for us, we paid RM18 each and we got so many food.

The food we had were spaghetti, fried rice, fried bee hoon, curry chicken (with roti benggali), sushi, satay, prawn cake, roasted pork (siu yok/sio bak), sausages, fish balls, 3 jellys of different flavours, 2 types of cake, spring rolls, 3 types of fruits, KFC for a Malay teacher, lots of soft drinks and soya bean with barley.

Arranging the food.

Since it’s a Teacher’s Day Celebration, the main subject was at the teachers at first. We started the whole thing at 10am when the first teacher came in for food. We get our hands on only after they had eaten. My friend had a crazy idea and that was starring at the teachers while  take the food so that they got a little pressure and tension from us, thus getting less food with a lot left for us.

The teachers kept coming in after the first guest who is our school’s senior assistant for CCA came in. We were so excited as that means we were getting closer to the food. There’s cheering, laugher and shouting that fill the air in the classroom.

After they have done with theirs and it’s our turn. When it’s our turn, for sure there won’t be much left over for the late comer teachers.

It’s the real party time after all the teacher had gone out from our class and move to other places. Two things to be said about them coming to our place, it’s too happenings and too many food, I bet there’s no other places better than our class 5SA1.

Every year, there will be a fellowship theme night and another banquet night in Leo Forum. The fellowship night during this year’s Leo Forum was held at Sunshine Banquet Hall, in fact the whole Leo Forum thingy was held at there. I never know that there’s a Banquet Hall at the top floor of Sunshine Square at Bayan Lepas, it’s felt so unfamiliar with me. Only then I know there’s such a hall for people to rent for events.

The theme for the fellowship night was “Superhero” and it’s not easy to find a suitable attire for that, it had become cosplay on that night and there’s not only superhero but also villains.

He said he is Julies Caesar.

As for me, I got no costume, it’s just a DIY printed tee shirt, “I am not a Superhero”, because I really not a superhero, I am just Nick Chan. Simple and easy. =)

I realised not all 1000 delegates had the theme wear on, it’s only like 30 percents of everyone. I think it’s not say to look for a costume. There’s lot of superman tee shirt and quite a number of batmans.

The night’s entertainment was not really good. I don’t know why the same breakdancing crew came out on the stage and did the same dance for 3 times. The lousy sound system made the Leo Idol’s singing sounded lousy too.

We were sitting real far from the stage so I didn’t really see what’s going on in front, there’s like a sketch that I didn’t see, a Best Superhero competition which I didn’t see.

What I saw was the local 12 years old Penang boy who sings Hokkien song very well, Miss World Malaysia singing for us, Azizi came out on the stage and One Nation MC during the end of the night.

Sorry I got to say that One Nation MC did not rock the hall, I didn’t really know who they were and are, I think it’s better to find a DJ heat up the atmosphere then them. Play some dance tune and get high on the dance floor, but that’s not we got. It was high at last year’s Leo Forum in Ipoh but not this year. Argh.

I forgot to mention the food, it was a buffet but the queue for it was very very very long, imagine 3 buffet table with 1000 people queuing up. Wow! The food was not very good, I only did like the prawn. =) We stayed there till like 11.30pm and then we went back to the hotel at B Suite.
