Maybank Visa Debit (Maybankard) Card
Written by Nicholas Chan on October 23, 2008 – 12:30 am -Yo, I just went to Maybank today to change my previous ATM card to a Visa Debit card. The intention to change is after seeing the advertorial on the newspaper a few days ago. Since I do shop online, a Visa Debit card helps me a lot.I already have a Prepaid Mastercard, but then getting another one won’t lose anything. One thing, RM12 will be deducted from account for the card.
I went to Maybank after school. It’s easy.
- Tell the counter you want to change the Maybankard to Debit Card.
- Fill in the form.
- Go back to the counter.
- Wait for the process (ID check and everything).
- Get your new Visa Debit card on the spot.
- Change your PIN at the nearest ATM machine at last.
The whole process took me like about 45 minutes, I believe it could be faster if the person talk less to his colleague. By the way, there’s a Hari Raya open house at Maybank KOMTAR today at the time I was there, free buffet to everyone, but I did not eat.

USA Starbucks Card in Malaysia
Written by Nicholas Chan on September 5, 2008 – 12:28 am -I remembered when I was ordering food at Starbucks Coffee, Suria KLCC, I saw a lady paid the cashier in cash and later she gave her a card. I then quickly surf the net to look for any Starbucks Coffee privillage card or sort of. What I found is Starbucks Card which is a prepaid card which stores credit for buying coffee.
Unfortunately, it’s only available in a few country only, etc. United States, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and a few more. Malaysia is not in the list. However, that lady did give the cashier a card. Is it a foreign Starbucks Card and she was using it for point collection? I don’t know.
I saw the Starbucks Card quite interesting on the net and decided to get one for myself. For collection and also for use if I could use it in Malaysia. Checked Ebay and I found one that’s only $3. Bought it and it has arrived today in my letterbox. It took about 1 and a half week for the delivery from United States to Malaysia. It seems fast.
Nothing much in the envelope, there’s a greeting card and the Starbucks Card itself.
It has $0 credit in the card and I don’t what should I do with it. For the sake of funness and attractiveness of the card, I bought it off the net. I love Starbucks, but it’s expensive. Any Starbucks collector here?
