Away to PLKN (Day 40): Amanda’s Sweet 16 Birthday
Written by Nicholas Chan on May 6, 2010 – 10:00 am -On this lovely 29th January 2010, cool blogger Missyanda invited me and my friends to join her sweet sixteen birthday party at Coffee Island. It’s really interesting because there’s many many people and many many nice food! My MAGNIFICENT group were there too, and also the Leo Club friends, Plurk friends. I like!
Coffee Island is a cafe on Gurney Drive somewhere near my place. The party started at around 8pm. It’s not really big party, it’s like invite everyone and come and eat together. Since it’s sweet sixteen, it must be many people right.

Choon Ling and Sally, new friend.
Met new friends too and talk talk talk a lot.

Jing Min, Arron, me and Chaiwei.
Zi Wei and Chai Wei on the left. Chen Yuen don’t know doing what.

Magnificent SIX with our present.

Plurkers.

Yiphing Dot Net, with Chien Chern at the back.
Fun! Happy super belated birthday, because I am in NS, only I can post this up. Oh yeah!

Snakes and Recyclable at Queensbay Mall
Written by Nicholas Chan on December 1, 2009 – 7:17 pm -Snakes are really very creepy, they are not pretty, they are not cute, but not ugly neither, they are just weird looking creature, and deadly. I like watching snakes show on National Geographic and Animal Planet, and too at the zoo. I do not dislike it, nor like it, but got a little bit interest in it.
2 weeks ago, I went to Queensbay Mall, was actually wanted to check out the project by Leo Club of Penang (City), then I saw snakes, a few in their box with the snakes man handling them.
I was curious and went to check out the (pet) snake and took photographs. I saw people touching it, so I gave it a touch too, felt sticky, room temperature, muscular, and weird.
Then the snake man took the snake and gave it to me, wanted me to hold it and take photograph. Funny was I was scared, and screamed, the snake was real tame, toothless I guess, and for sure venomless, but I still scared, afterall, all snakes are scary and they kill. Anyway, held it in my hand for almost a minute that gave me an experience. Hehehe. Sorry that I was just not daring enough. =D
Chin Lai here was more fearless, he had the snake on his neck. Nothing to WOW for, because everyone does it, just not me.
Dog or horse?
A little of the project was, a environment-themed art competition. “Artists” works in group and make art pieces out of scrap and recyclable items. Pretty cool.
Then spent a little time at Starbucks, working out on add maths and met Amanda and Yunne for the first time, both are (young) bloggers.

Leo Forum 09:Closing Ceremony and Last Few Photos
Written by Nicholas Chan on July 6, 2009 – 12:24 am -The last day at Leo Forum 09 was pretty boring and energyless. We got 2 meal on that day, a breakfast and a lunch. It’s just a closing ceremony and got nothing to do on that day. Energyless because that I did get only 3 hours of sleep the day before at 5 and woke up at 8 in the morning.
It’s check out and moving the luggage out from the room to a place to keep it. They had part of the basement carpark to keep the delegates’ luggages temporarily. There’s no other place in the hotel can do it already because there’s like 1000 delegates.
After checking out, we were transported to Sunshine Banquet Hall for closing ceremony and lunch. It’s just boring talking and I find nothing interesting.
Lester.
Dark circle, eye bags and a tired face.
We were just sitting there and wait for food. It’s buffet again and luckily there’s a special lane for the forum sub committee which I was part of it.
Yong Seng, Jason, Lester and me.
Min Xiang, Lester, Yong Seng, Jason.
No matter how bad or not good the forum was, the report speech at the closing ceremony still talk about how good it was. So it’s just a waste of time I guess.
The left over that we got. Ugly and dirty.
Yin Chen from Pahang. I’ve forgotten which club she was in.

With twinning sisters club, Leo Club of Sam Tet High School, Ipoh.
The last day was not really a good mood for photo taking because everyone look so tired. Guess a lot of people were like me that slept for a few hours the previous night. They’re all just waiting to go home and get a good sleep.
Photos by YngShin.
Before getting home, I had individual shots with the girls from Leo Club of Penang Chinese Girls High School who claims to read my blog. I was happy when it seems like everyone want to take photos with me, sounds as if I am a superstar but I am not. Anyway, I thank you all especially to the camera girl Lye Yng Shin, a very cute girl from the club who takes nice photo and blog a lot too! I had fun. Good one.
Everyone were going to their buses and I waited my brother to fetch me home. It’s nice to meet some new faces and names there, although it’s a not very successful forum, yet I did enjoy it, it’s fun at some part and being crazy and a lot more. I had a long afternoon sleep on that day. It was so so so tiring.

Food Review Session at Karaikudi Indian Restaurant
Written by Nicholas Chan on March 28, 2009 – 2:04 am -Last weekend, I went to an Indian Cuisine restaurant in town named Karaikudi to do a food testing and review. I sounds so professional but in fact I am not. It’s just food blogger doing a food testing session and to help promote the restaurant actually.
This was my 2nd food review session but my first post in in my food blog. I didn’t post the review for the first food review session because I got it over too long and didn’t jot down the food name and now I got no inspiration to write it. Now I know that after doing such a review session, I shall write it and post it up within two weeks.
I’m writing this just to show some behind the scene. I was the youngest food blogger among all those big man and big woman. They are friendly person and I first met them at the food blogger gathering last year. Once in a while, there will be gathering and eat-together session again.
This happened on last Saturday night, mom dropped me off at Market Street in Little India and I strolled along the road to look for the restaurant and I found it.
The manager booked the second floor for us this food review session and there’s 10 food bloggers include myself.
There’s a so called “test paper” which stressed us because we need to write our comment right away after trying the food. It’s not really hard, it’s just that we tend to write our review on our comfy chair at home and not on the spot without people looking at what you are writing. It just a feedback for the restaurant manager and I found it useful for me to jot down some notes so that I can have a reference when writing my blog post at home.
Photo shooting behind the scene. It’s always best to have one set of food for eat and another set for photo because taking photograph of a food takes time. Hehe.
He is Steven Goh by the way.
Thanks PenangTuaPui and the restaurant for the invitation. Hopefully, there will be more food review for me as it’s good to try new food.

Went to the Kuan Yin Temple for a while
Written by Nicholas Chan on December 21, 2008 – 1:21 am -It was not a normal Saturday morning, usually it’s either sleeping or go to school for CCA but it’s holiday so it’s probably is sleeping but it’s not. I went to help out to take photos at the marriage registration centre for like 2 hours, it’s just beside the Kuan Yin Temple. When everything has finished, me, KOKahKOK and MX went to the Kuan Yin Temple for a little bit of praying and I took some shots.
I didn’t really walk into the temple and also without any joss stick with me. It’s just typical normal Buddhist with both palms sticking together and said my prayers.
The bird people sells bird to people for setting them free as a sign of good deed. HOWEVER, have you ever wonder when you set the birdie free, the bird man will again catch some birds and back to the spot to sell the bird again. So it’s moving in a circle, the best is don’t buy any bird so the bird man don’t have any business and in the end they will not catch the bird again.
The nice thing was when the western culture meets the eastern culture. Two Caucasian travelers with red Christmas hat taking photos in front of the temple. Cute! I wish you a Merry Christmas.
(Don’t know who taking photos, I was just behind the guy.)
The Kuan Yin Temple is located on Pitt Street with a long Malay road name, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling. =) With 2 bloggers pointing, KOKahKOK and MX.

Written by Nicholas Chan on December 17, 2008 – 2:05 am -(not at this Starbuck)
I met one of the superblogger-photographer, Mr Jason Goh a.k.a. smashpOp at Starbucks Coffee, The Garden, Mid Valley few weeks ago while I was in Kuala Lumpur. At first I saw his update on Twitter than he was at Starbucks Coffee, I was thinking to meet him but after some times, I’ve actually forgotten about it. Just while I was walking from The Garden to Mid Valley, passed the Starbucks Coffee, I saw him. That’s a lucky one, said Hi and took a photograph.
Okay, I looked kid and yes I am still a kid. This was the 2nd time meeting him, the first time was while he was in Penang.
