Night at Coffee Island
Written by Nicholas Chan on December 24, 2009 – 1:15 am -Coffee Island is a cafe on Gurney Drive. Frankly speaking, the place is nice, but the price of the food is not so nice. Shh. I went there with friends on Zez Chien’s birthday. Not gonna write much on this and just sharing the photos with you guys. Merry Christmas!

Chien Chern.
We went there after eating cake at Gurney Plaza’s playground. The reason we went there was everyone didn’t want to go back so early and was very thirsty, so we went there to sit and drink and talk.
Hua Ken.
Wei Chung acting cool.
Zez Chien, birthday boy.
Doing a live post for Away From Computer.

Merry christmas everyone. =) What you guys are doing on Christmas eve and Christmas day?

Zez Chien’s 17 Birthday
Written by Nicholas Chan on December 24, 2009 – 12:46 am -Life is fun because every months, every day also got people birthday, always got birthday celebration, always play, always eat, very fun, but then spending money for it is not fun. Haha. Two weeks ago, I and many friends celebrated Zez Chien’s 17 birthday. I don’t want to start the story of how I know Zez, when I met him and blablabla. A very short introduction is, he was my classmate in 4SA5 and we are friends now. Happy birthday.
We actually were still in the middle of the exam on that day, but it was just a few hours outing and 3 more days for us to prepare before the next paper, so nobody gave a damn about the exam.
What we did that night is we went to have western food dinner at Fettes Park.
After the dinner, Fangs bought cake and we went to the playground at Gurney Plaza to eat the cake. We didn’t want to spend the whole night at the western food place, so Gurney Plaza it was.
It’s pretty quiet at night at the playground. It’s only us, being silly, acting like kids playing at the playground. Playground is always fun, imo.
Middle fingers.
One dirty thing was we didn’t have any fork or tissue paper, we were pretty disgusting, eating the cake with bare hands.
What is he doing on floor?
Tee Jin and Arron.
Trying to be lame outside the toilet.
At the arcade.

Chaiwei’s Pre-Birthday Celebration and Happy Birthday
Written by Nicholas Chan on November 14, 2009 – 10:36 pm -This happened on last Saturday but the actual birthday for her is today, so happy birthday Chaiwei, a wish from me via my blog. So last Saturday, I went to Chaiwei’s new place, she’s a friend, and she has just moved to a new place lately. It was actually little house warming steamboat get-together lunch, but the cake was surprise because I didn’t know about that. So it had become more likely a pre-birthday celebration plus mini house warming.
I am bad at describing a person, she’s a friend, I met last year, a good one, friendly, nice and pretty! Don’t play play, a lot of guys fall for her. XD (You can submit your application form for wanting to know her in my comment area. HAHA)
Well the main thing is still about the day. It’s steamboat lunch and I have been eating steamboat a lot! This was already the 3rd time in these two months. The first was with Chien Chern them, then with my class, then now at Chaiwei’s place. I dislike steamboat last time, somehow it’s getting fun where you can play with food in the soup, ha! But then, I’m getting a little bit bored of it, it’s time to go for something else, BBQ perhaps?
Oops, happy birthday. =)
Fifth formers, friends, how’s everyone’s studies going on?

Happy 17 Birthday in School
Written by Nicholas Chan on August 7, 2009 – 12:00 am -Wow, it had been already many weeks since my birthday had past. My birthday was on 16th July and it’s a Thursday and a little information for you that today is also my birthday according to the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s 17th June, Ox Year in the Chinese lunar calendar today, so I wish myself happy birthday again. Hehe.
Ignore Jing Min with the handkerchief.
So let’s talk about the 16th July that had past few weeks ago, as I had mentioned, it was a Thursday and it’s a school day. As usual, I went to school on that day of course, bringing a smile on the face and hoping someone would wish me and the first person who wished me was Zez Chien while I was going up the stairs then when I stepped into the class, it’s happy birthday for everyone and thanks for the birthday song. =) Love it.
This year, I met 2 person who was born on the same day as me, they are Eric and Charles. So nice to know there’s people who was born on the same day. Thanks Arron for the cake, I only blew the candle but I did not eat it because the bell rang and I had to go back to my class already.
Tee Jin, my Leo Club president and friend and classmate for the past 2 years bought me a cake. It’s a chocolate cake and looks sweet. I like it.
Make a wish. Hehe. This is not crying.
I cut the cake just as soon as the teacher went out the class. Teacher didn’t allow me to cut the cake during her lesson so I waited until the bell rang, then quickly cut it u p.
Self-servicing.
The cake was gone pretty fast when I shouted “self-service”, everyone came and took a small piece for themselves. I think there’s people did not eat it and one of them for sure is Beng Tian who always don’t give face to my stuff.
Beng Tian with the finger.
Jin Jie and me.
Acting cool.
Reading newspaper, one of the pasttime in class.
As usual, they played with my camera and took a lot of photos.
Finger. =D
Guan Thye (Thye-Lo / Big Brother, he doesn’t look as polite as you think. Hehe, that’s why we call him Big Brother or Tailo in Hokkien.) and Jing Min, both also got a same birthday in December.
I received 3 gifts in school, a cake from Tee Jin, a keychain from Arron, a pack for Twisties from Jing Min and a sweet from Wei Lee. Haha. =) Although, it’s simple, yet it’s still a gift. Thank you all.

This is Eric, another birthday boy.

17 Birthday’s Eve
Written by Nicholas Chan on July 27, 2009 – 12:52 am -2 weeks ago was my birthday and I had my birthday celebration with my family a day before which is the eve of my birthday. Well, I can’t skip a birthday celebration we daddy and mommy, let’s not take it as a birthday celebration, but it some sort of get around together and eat together. Family is still very important now and ever so there must a be a birthday meal with daddy, mommy and brother.
Lion Alan Thoo, District Chairperson for Leo Club.
Lion Marcus.
It’s not a lunch but a dinner. However, in the afternoon I went of to Gurney Plaza to meet Lion and few Leos of Leo Club to have a afternoon tea together and I receive and early gift that day.
Yet, birthday eve was not a holiday for me, I still had to go for a tuition class in the evening but my kind tuition teacher granted an early leave half an hour before class end for me to go for my birthday dinner.
Well, I wanted a place where there’s food and cakes, how can a birthday goes without a cake? =) So I found the dinner place which is Manila Place at the Gurney Plaza’s alfresco area. It’s just two slice of cake I ordered from the cake bar, I poke in two candles for blowing. It’s a standard birthday procedure.
Last time when I was small, I didn’t wish before blowing the candles, no one told me about that too, but after watching a lot of TV, it seems like people will wish before blowing the candle, so I followed along. Had my wish, not going to tell you what it is, but it’s a long list of wish, then the candles light off. Happy birthday (again)!

Happy Birthday Yikhung
Written by Nicholas Chan on May 11, 2009 – 9:03 pm -I know that I am like going into thin air lately, yes I did because there’s so much things to do and some complication for me to write my blog. Mid year exam is happening this Thursday and the room that I was sleeping had been occupied by brother (Yikhung) and his girlfriend and so PC is far away from me. Not to mention, I was lazy too.
Okay, cut the crap. Last Saturday was my brother’s birthday and also was Wesak Day. My first plan was going to the Wesak Day parade but I couldn’t make it because brother had his birthday celebration at the same time. So it’s family first.
It’s not just a birthday get-together dinner, it’s 2 in one as we were having a mother’s day family dinner too. =)
Mom and I together bought a cake for brother, it’s Tiramusu and it’s delicious. Yummy. I actually wanted to get 21 candle for the cake but mom insisted to keep it simple with to bigger one and one smaller one. Having more candles on a cake is funner lah.
Happy birthday brother Yikhung. In case you don’t know, his girlfriend’s name is Yeqing.
