I kept my two toy camera, a Holga and Diana F+ with Fisheye in the cupboard for a long time because I didn’t really have to time to take out to shoot but recently, I brought them out and shoot all the shots I’ve left in the film.

After getting the film to processed, and saw the outcome, my interest came back again. Have been surfing and checking out a lot of toy camera lately and my shopping and wish list increases.

OMG! I am so poor right now. Toy camera is cheap, the build quality is also cheap but I tell you what, it’s not a cheap hobby! Because you will have to spend for films, different type of films, send to shop to process, then scan into digital, it will be expensive.

Well, if you are into it, feeling arts, be sure you save a lot of money, earn a lot of money and never count how much you have spent, it will be a lot.

More shots are coming, don’t wanna post it all once. Not fun. Haha. By the way, the above shot is I did the scan from negative myself. Not bad right?

Recently, while I was jogging on Gurney Drive, I saw there’s a couple doing street performing at there. It’s the second time that I saw them at Gurney Drive. The guy play on the violin and the girl dance. No idea whether they touring to Penang and do some random street performance here or what. The guy is from Taipei and the girl is from Russia.

One part of their street performance was the Russian girl got her feet on the broken glass. Sounds pain but she’s fine with it.

Although this is cool, but I realize that not many people get close to check it out. I wonder, is it really uninteresting? Or the locals are just too lazy to walk close to see what’s happening?

The name for this concert is long. Penang Wind Orchestra 9th Anniversary, Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival Pre-tour Concert. =)

Last Friday, I went to this concert at the Dewan Sri Pinang on invitation by two of the member in this Penang Wind Orhestra team, Juan Shong (flute) and Wei Keong (saxaphone), who are also my current classmate. He gave me two tickets but then I found nobody who is interested in this sort of concert to give to, so I actually got an extra ticket for it.

Luckily, it’s not only me was there, a few of my classmate went there too, as a support for two of them. From my friend, the reason of having this concert was to raise more money for the orchestra team for going to perform at overseas, another reason was making it like a rehearsal for them before performing in this Jeju Internation Wind Ensemble Festival in Korea, the two of them will be departing tomorrow to Korea. That’s so fun of them.

Back to Dewan Sri Pinang where the concert was. My friend picked the seats at the middle, not so in front and not so at the back. However, there’s some big sized guy in front of me block my view. I didn’t want to bother about, as long as I can listen to the music from my place.

Wei Keong on the left.

Juan Shong on the right.

It’s a two hour long concert, I don’t really know much about what they were playing. The few pieces that I knew were Sound Of Music, Phantom Of The Opera and Star Wars. It’s always the same thing most of the time. The last time I went to these concert was 5 years ago and I heard this musical pieces before.

There’s something cool which was the drum solo by one ex Chung Ling student, I don’t really know his name, I only knew that the drum solo was really good. There’s a lady soprano came out to sing along with the band, good voice, but not I am not into soprano.

This Juan Shong’s little brother who sat in front of us and was very noisy and kinda annoyed us. My god, but he fell asleep in the end when we didn’t bother him.

It went interesting at first but as time goes on, it felt boring a little bit and maybe because it’s late, we were yawning all along during the last half an hour. Hehe.

When it almost came to an end, the standard thing that is in every band concert came on and that’s the giving of flowers as appreciate and salutation and shouting of “Encore”. Eventually, the conductor will came back on stage and make them play another music again. It’s standard procedure. Haha.

We then went to the backstage to look for Juan Shong and Wei Keong, took photo and I went home. Yay.

I bought the Ikea halogen wall lamp last year in the only Ikea store in Damansara, I didn’t get to mount it up as I don’t have my driller and screw. Moreover dad says it won’t be looking good if I mount it up right below my bookshelves because the halogen lamp is too thick. So he asked me to keep it perhaps he may use for his client in the future, yes, he does interior design.

While doing a little bit cupboard cleaning, I found the lamp just lying inside, I think dad and me had probably forget about it. Inspiration then came in my mind of setting it up in another way, without the need of any screw and driller. No holes, which is instead of making to light shines downward, I make it shines upward to the ceiling, creating a bounce light effect, so it will look warm and soft. Not so striking on my desk.

This is my first time setting up lamps at home. Ikea’s stuff comes with a simple pictorial guide with no words. So anyone and work out with their stuff easily.

It’s very annoying when setting it up with the cable dangling around. When it comes to cable management, it’s headache time when I got limited tools. I only know how to hide it up.

There’s not only cable for the lamps on top, there’s also cable and plug from my printer and a rear speaker.

At first, I was thinking of using only the 2 lamps out of 3, which the 2 place on top of the bookshelves shining to the ceiling, then I decided to add another 0ne behind my monitor since the cable is long.

I got no idea where the switch should be locate, there’s no hole for me to hide the cable and I only can place it somewhere that is not noticable when people walks in my room.

One thing that do you notice the photos of baby up there? Ignore them if you may, one of them was me and another 2 were brother. The place where I hide the cables is behind the 3 photos, so you probably don’t want to take away the photos from there.

The photos of my new workspace lighting are on the other post.

Guangzhou is developing fast nowadays. One thing that they are preparing for the coming Asian Games which will be held at there in 2010. They have a propoganda right now and that is “Building A Civilized/Culture City” (创建世界文明城市).

Cantonese are educated in Guangzhou but then people from the outskirt, far away from the city that came to the city to look for jobs are not. They can just simply spit on the road or just cross the road even there’s no pedestrian crossing, or not queing up for the train and other acts.

While walking on the road, I saw some cute cartoon by the roadside so I snapped some shots of them. Pardon my translation, I am not really good at it, though a picture speaks a thousand words.

Obey the traffic law, stop on red, go on green.

Left, you might knock against other people on the public transport，you may apologize voluntary. Right, care about your life, drive safe.

Up, throw rubbish and waste into rubbish bin at public areas. Down left, cherish the wildlifes.

Be tolerant and respect your wife and husband.

Up left, don’t simply point your finger at people in public. Up right, don’t allow your pets to poo or pee at public areas. Down, while taking the escalator, left side as fast lane while stand still on right side.
