Visit to Penang Butterfly Farm with the orphans

Written by Nicholas Chan on November 25, 2008 – 12:54 pm -

Well, I have done a little or more on the community service side. Last Saturday, I and them, the Leo Club bought bought the kids from St Joseph Homes to visit the Penang Butterfly Farm at Teluk Bahang. It’s not short journey, the route is about 40km from Upper Penang Road to Teluk Bahang and that’s why the bus uncle charged us RM260 for the bus. Anyway, it’s for the charity, for the kids and for myself too.

It’s my first visit to the Penang Butterfly Farm, though I don’t really get to shoot on the buttefly a lot because I was busy on the video part.

It’s not really a big farm, just a garden with a lots of butterfly in there. Comparing this with Chiang Mai’s Butterfly and Orchid Farm, the butterfly here is prettier but there’s more orchid at Chiang Mai. Haha.

Due to we were bringing orphans, so the entry fee for all of us were free of charge. Want to thank Penang Butterfly Farm for their support on the community here.

There’s not only butterfly but there’s also some ugly creature like the ugly turtle and the lizard. I don’t find any snake there, I though there will be but there’s none.

As you can see from their faces, they were smiling. So it’s a good trip for them and me too.

One thing, the kids don’t aware about the fragile-ness of the butterfly, the love squeezing them with their hands. That’s a little bit of OMG. Anyway, I plan not to go there again until I have the OOMPH to shoot on butterfly, because it feels a little bit boring to me (perhaps not to you), BUT it’s a good trip if you haven’t been there before.

It’s just some random shoot out while we were waiting for food in Gurney Plaza. There’s a part saying “Wo Men Ai Lim Mey Ling” by Moral Club’s BOD which means “We Love Lim Ley Ling”. Lim Mey Ling is the current teacher advisor for the Moral Club of Chung Ling High School.
