Random Hong Kong Photos
Written by Nicholas Chan on August 21, 2008 – 8:00 pm -It has already been 6 months after I came back from my Hong Kong trip and I miss Hong Kong so much. I want to eat the Wan Than Mee, the Chee Cheong Fun, the porridge, the road side curry fish ball, walk on the people filled street and more to do.
Anyway, just found some photos on my computer and just share it up. I hope that I get to go there in the coming year. =)
Nice bus queuing line for commuters and the words on the board is saying Please give priority to the disable. How wish bus stop in Penang is like this, but with shade of course. =)
It’s somewhere at Kwun Tong.
If I’m not mistaken, it’s Tai Chuen St at Tai Kok Tsui.
Somewhere at Kwun Tong again. I think it’s some little accident happened there.
Using bamboo as support for the repair work of the building. You can’t really see any steel support on their buildings which are under construction. It’s all bamboo and it’s so strong.

Wong Tai Sin Temple, Hong Kong
Written by Nicholas Chan on July 27, 2008 – 9:47 pm -Hong Kong another must go place is Wong Tai Sin Temple, if you are a buddhist, just go there, do some prayers, pray for anything, even if you are not, you can go take a look also. Of course, that was my first time going there and it was many months ago in March.
Early Monday morning in March’s school holiday, we took the subway or so call the MTR to Wong Tai Sin, it’s a few stops from Yau Ma Tei and it’s actually far from my hotel I was staying.
It was just a visit and look around, didn’t bought praying materials, I just did my prayers in my heart. =)
Saw a lot of local Hong Kees, tourist were there too, but not a lot.
Actually, people are not allow to light a candle there, scaring it will burnt up everything, but then there’s still people doing so.
Worth to visit. I’ll gonna go there again if I get a chance. I loves temple actually.

Fa Yuen St, Ladies St, Tung Choi St
Written by Nicholas Chan on May 27, 2008 – 1:14 am -Fa Yuen St is next to Tung Choi St which is also known as Ladies St. It’s a place where you find all those imitation goods. Though, they don’t place it out, they catalogue for you choose from and then they’ll take the goods to you. Didn’t really buy anything there last time, there’s some nice jacket I saw but it was a little bit too thick to wear in Malaysia. You know lah, it wil never be cold here, even in the mall, the AC is not cold enough.
During the last visit to Hong Kong, I’ve plenty of times and so I’ve been to these streets for a few times but not once. It could be said that they are near to my hotel but still require a long walk. We did try to walk back, but it’s better to take the MTR from Yau Ma Tei to Mong Kok.
If you plan to buy something there, the one thing you must do is bargain and cut price! Give a low price, if he/she refuses, just walkaway. He/she will chase after you. Haha.
Travel tips: Sai Yeung Choi St, Tung Choi St (Ladies St) and Fa Yuen St are must visit places in Hong Kong.

Lan Kwai Fong
Written by Nicholas Chan on May 27, 2008 – 12:54 am -How can one not to go to Lan Kwai Fong if visiting to Hong Kong? Although I don’t drink, taking walk there was nice as you can see a lot of nicely decorated pub and open bar. We were there at around 6pm so people just started coming in. I believe it’s more crowded at night like what you see in the TV. Damn cool place, we have it too in Malaysia like Bangsar and Upper Penang Road.

Hong Kong Times Square
Written by Nicholas Chan on May 21, 2008 – 12:59 am -Jom, let’s teleport to Hong Kong again. Now, everywhere has Times Square. It was first introduced in New York City where a street with a divider (Broadway and 7th Ave) with a lot of brightly lighted advertisement at night, then Hong Kong has their own Times Square (shopping center) with big LCD screen outside their building.
Kuala Lumpur too has a Times Square which claim to have Asia largest indoor theme park, sooner my hometown will have a Penang Times Square too with apartments and shopping area.
It is so easy to go anywhere you want in Hong Kong. A MTR ride to Causeway Bay and take the Times Square exit, you will then appear right inside Times Square. I didn’t take a walk in the mall instead, I went outside where all the peoples are.
This was where me imitate one of smashpOp pose in Hong Kong, but failed to get the effect. Haha, he is so damn good in posing.
The place is like yours. You can cross the road whenever you want because it’s too narrow and usually no car would pass by the area.
The Times Square’s surroudings is a very happenings places where there’s a lot of people walking around, non-stop. Students in uniform, work people in suits and tux, locals, tourist etc etc.
Trust me, you don’t want to leave your little kid alone there. Though, I like the feeling of being at a happenings, crowded place. It’s like Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur and Orchard Rd in Singapore. Only some places here is like there, in Hong Kong, everywhere is people!
By the way, I ate curry fish balls there.
It was a tired day by then. From The Peak to Central, then to Sheung Wan then down to Causeway Bay. All by foot and train, damn tiring and later then we went back the hotel to freshen up only then we went to had supper at a coffee house near our hotel.
