Lunch at Leo Forum 2008

Written by Nicholas Chan on June 27, 2008 – 12:52 am -

This should be a long ago post but I’ve forgotten to upload the photo. I was bored just now and I scrolled through my photo album in the computer and found a lot of the Leo Forum photos in Ipoh a month ago, so I might as well to upload it up and post it here and share with everyone.

Lunch was provided but it’s not very interesting to me because it’s just a normal buffet lunch with not interesting food. Just quickly scooped up and eat all the food, I and other members went walking around saying Hi to everyone and eventually took photos with some of them.

Leo member tends to do a little business where there’s a lot of people. They sell badges which cost as little as RM3 and as much as RM15. I have never bought any of that in any of the Leo Forums I have participated.

Personally, I prefer getting it for free rather than spent in on the badges which are then to clip on the vest which signifies how active or how many activity have you attended. I got a little badges only because mine are like keep dropping, so I just might as well take it down.

(Finalist of Leo Idol)

(President of Assunta Sec and Vice President of Chung Ling High meets,)

(I and Cheryl from Assunta Sec)

(Us and Leo of SMK La Salle)

There’s nothing much to do there except eat, talk, receives awards and socialize. So basically it’s a big social gathering which involve people from all over of Malaysia.

DAP Office at Air Itam

Written by Nicholas Chan on June 17, 2008 – 11:58 am -

I was too bored that day after tuition and I took some photos outside the DAP (Democratic Actions Party) outside the office near my tuition centre opposite my school at Air Itam.

DAP had been setting up a lot of offices in Penang lately and good to see them around. My previous tuition centre at Pulau Tikus is turn into one of the office too. =D I’m too young for politics but it’s quite interesting sometimes.

Chung Ling’s Largest Male Toilet

Written by Nicholas Chan on June 15, 2008 – 4:12 pm -

I was staying up late in school last Wednesday and I found nothing to do while waiting for the time to pass by. I brought my camera to school on that day so I just went walking around and the nearest place I was being at was the Male Toilet.

To be specific, it’s the largest male toilet in my school with fans but no AC. It would be cool to have AC in the toilet or maybe a little bit of music? Haha.

It had undergoes renovation many many months ago, and of course it looks better now.

Though, you still can find some interesting artworks here. Some are on the walls, but only a few are artistic and the rest is just graffiti/vandalizing, instead of beautifying.

=)

Don’t know when, they installed a CCTV in front of the toilet, so don’t ever try to play play at the toilet, though from what I know, this kind of CCTV is not a good one, the good one is like a round one with a lot of LED surrounding the lens which allow it to see at night. My school has a few of these.

Fa Yuen St, Ladies St, Tung Choi St

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 27, 2008 – 1:14 am -

Fa Yuen St is next to Tung Choi St which is also known as Ladies St. It’s a place where you find all those imitation goods. Though, they don’t place it out, they catalogue for you choose from and then they’ll take the goods to you. Didn’t really buy anything there last time, there’s some nice jacket I saw but it was a little bit too thick to wear in Malaysia. You know lah, it wil never be cold here, even in the mall, the AC is not cold enough.

During the last visit to Hong Kong, I’ve plenty of times and so I’ve been to these streets for a few times but not once. It could be said that they are near to my hotel but still require a long walk. We did try to walk back, but it’s better to take the MTR from Yau Ma Tei to Mong Kok.

If you plan to buy something there, the one thing you must do is bargain and cut price! Give a low price, if he/she refuses, just walkaway. He/she will chase after you. Haha.

Travel tips: Sai Yeung Choi St, Tung Choi St (Ladies St) and Fa Yuen St are must visit places in Hong Kong.

World Of EOS Model Shootout

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 21, 2008 – 6:54 pm -

Hola, finally I got some free time off. Exam is going to end in 2 day with a couple of useless paper at the end, which is Civic Ed and Physical Education (knowledge on physical ed) and also the English essay paper which will be happening on tomorrow. Well, all of these need no study as I only go through some of it. Even though there’s mark on the 2 useless one, my study mood has get over, it’s time to move on and prepare for school holiday!

For the first time, I went to an event to take photos. It’s not a fashion show, but a digital camera show with beautiful girls. It’s actually a model shootout session for the Canon photography contest. I believe some do send in their entries and some just take for the sake of fun or project, perhaps? As for me, I’ll gonna submit it up and try my luck.

Ladies and gentlement, I bring to you models and Canons

It’s a tiring day, yes it was. Spent an hour there, squatting up and down, moving little bit of left and right, taking and putting on the flash. Wow! It’s not big place, the stage is pretty small and the stage was surround by hundreds of photographer with big gun on hand, I can hardly move around. So I only have a spot for to shoot. So, I tried my best, still not very good but gain some experience what.

Anyway, do pick your favourite shot. =)

Friday Afterschool

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 18, 2008 – 2:09 am -

Without any reason, I took my camera to school on Friday and I did not really take a lot of photos besides the Chemistery thingy in class. After school dismisses or after finishing the Chinese essay paper, I had stay back a little while in school for lunch.

Despite exam is on, people still loves playing basketball after school. As for me, I’ll only play with newbie because I am also newbie, not in the pro team. Surprisingly, I saw timer or ball counter were installed on top of the shooting board. Cool.

Chien

Even though didn’t get a chance to get into the court and join the fun, watching people play is pretty exciting. I didn’t stay long because mom was here early.

Corridor

It’s a long walk to the gate. I asked mom to be here 20 minutes after school dismissal, which gives me 10-15 minutes time to eat. Though, I only used 10 minutes for lunch.

Walkway

And again a long walk to the gate.

To Batu Lanchang

To Jalan Air Itam

My way is to Jalan Air Itam which is the road in front of the school. Mom was not punctual and I waited another 10 minutes outside the gate for her arrival. Yo! Nevermind, I can wait. :)

Light Trail

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 14, 2008 – 9:51 pm -

Taken this while taking the free cart ride at Macau’s Fisherman Wraft. You can play with your camera too to create this effect. Set your camera to Shutter Priority (S/Tv), then set the shutter speed to slowest, it’s something like 1/60, you set to more than 1″, if your camera don’t have this feature, you can set scene mode to night scene, then set the ISO to the lowest.

Beautiful?
