Chinese Exchange Student in Class 5SA1

Written by Nicholas Chan on July 18, 2009 – 12:54 am -

Recently, there’s a group of 11 students from China came for a one-week exchange program in our school. They are from the school, He Shan High School in Hui An Provice, Fu Jian. I am not very clear about where is it but teacher told me that we are sisters school, so there’s exchange program every year between this two school.

I missed the exchange program last year because I missed the announcement on the PA, it’s so unfortunate. Anyway, it’s fun seeing them here.

Only a few of them were assigned to our class and it’s only for a period or two lessons.

They were like free to roam around in school and can pick to go in classes randomly to join people’s lesson. For the first day, I didn’t bring my camera so I couldn’t get any shots. There’s 3 Chinese boys came in during our English and Chinese lessons. They introduced themselves and the English lesson was boring. My English teacher probably don’t really know how to mix with them and so, they did not come in during on English lesson the other day.

Though, Chinese lesson was fun with us talking to them and exchanging ideas and thoughts about culture. I did introduce our lovely Penang food to them but I wonder if they understand what I was talking about or not because I the name of most of the delicious food here are local names. Haha. Of course we talked in Mandarin. =)

On the next day, different people came in again during our Physics lesson. 2 Chinese girls and a boy. Teacher conducted the lesson in Mandarin though, it’s Mandarin most of the time. =D It’s only a short while of teaching and a long while of interacting again.

Souvenirs from them.

Very friendly people they are but they talk very softly all, most of the time. They are not like us, talk aloud and our topic of talking are kinda restricted because we have different mind and culture. They in their place is like always study and study, there’s not much entertainment for them like us and they don’t have CCA in school. It’s studying from morning till night and they stay in the school, it’s a boarding school there.

The last group shout we had together.

After all, this added a little fun into my high school life. Something different from normal talking, sleeping, shouting, running and shouting. Nice meeting you guys.
