Leo Forum 09 Wrap Up
Written by Nicholas Chan on July 12, 2009 – 7:00 pm -I’m gonna make a wrap up about my Leo Forum 09 event that happened in June, a month ago. So it’s part of my 2 weeks school holiday’s activity. I didn’t have much expectation from it since it’s in Penang and it’s expensive. Since everyone was telling me this is my last year in Leo Club, so just go for the last big event that I got.

Day 1:
I arrived early at B Suite Hotel in Bayan Baru. Found out that our club don’t get the room key and was promised that they key will be available when we come back from the special project but didn’t and on the other hand, we only get 5 room instead of 7. That’s the problem of their accommodation management.
We then went to a the special project by the river side. It’s very sunny, hot and what we did was throwing the EM mudball into the river.
Later then we went on a short tour at Little India. Was planned to go to the songkong making place but it’s closed on Friday.
After the Little India visit, we went to a group trishaw ride at Church Street Pier. Imagine 1000 people, groups by groups, getting on a off 20 trishaws at one time, under the hot sun. Fun? Haha.
In the evening, the first dinner of the night and it’s also known as the fellowship night with a theme of Superhero. I didn’t have a superhero costume so I just make a tee with Superhero imprinted on it. Buffet dinner and not so interesting entertainment.
Slept at 3 on that night.
Day 2:
It’s the big day where awards were given. I did not eat the breakfast that morning because I woke up late and I didn’t have the appetite.
It’s opening ceremony and it’s boring and sleepy. I was just talking with friends at there. The forum talk was not very interesting. We spent the whole day at Sunshine Banquet Hall. It’s talking all the time and the shots were not mostly by me but people who played with it at there. The lunch was interesting because it’s different from other as we were the sub committee. Then my camera battery when dead. Can’t take any photos. >.<
After lunch was the Sub District 308 B2 Leo Forum. B2 is the district we are in, mostly northen region of Malaysia. The award givings were fast and not serious. I shouted, cheered, and screamed a lot which made my head felt like exploding. I got a Outstanding Vice President award and a Outstanding Newsletter award and also nominated for Top Vice President award.
The banquet night came on with me wearing very smart with a tie. Excited about the Top Vice President award but unfortunately, it goes to someone in Kuala Lumpur. Maybe because that I’ve screamed too much in the afternoon, I felt tired and dizzy that night. Didn’t really eat much and the entertainment for that night also not interesting except for beatboxing by Leroy.
Then I went around to take photograph and this that’s the fun part of the night after got drop out from the Top Vice President award.
The photo taking craziness went on after going back to the hotel. There’s a lift traffic jam there so I took the stairs up to 11th floor when my room was.
It’s 1.30 am when I’ve done with all cleaning. Went to friends room to play the Killer card games, then went to another room to talk about ghost story and again to another room for the same thing until 5 in the morning.
Day 3:
It’s the day where everyone is going home. Had sandwich in the morning and I went to check out my room and met up everyone in the lobby then transported to Sunshine Banquet Hall again for closing ceremony and lunch.
Very boring and sleepy closing ceremony. When the buffet lunch started, everyone were running for it. Was not really in the photo mood, looked so tired but manage to have a few group shots before turning off my camera.
Went back to hotel after lunch and waited for brother to fetch me home. Slept for like only 6 hours total for two days and I slept for the whole afternoon on that day.
Overall, this year’s forum was not very successful, programs were not so fun, yet I do miss it, enjoy it and I met friends at there too.
