Went To Balik Pulau Last Weekend
Written by Nicholas Chan on July 9, 2009 – 9:42 pm -Last Sunday, dad brought us to Balik Pulau for food hunting, durian and laksa. I think it had been a long time I didn’t go there already, the last time before this was like last year. Since we had been there for a quite a time and also it’s the durian season, we went there as our Sunday family get-together trip.
The weather for that day was good, windy and not sunny, it’s just a good day to go out.
For this trip, I look around more in the little Balik Pulau county, I notice there’s a little changes there. Some shops were there and some is not right now.
The reason I look around because I was spotting for the sign for “White Resort Camp” because it’s where I wanted to go for National Service in this year end. If you have not know, I have been chosen to go for the 3 month long National Service Program. Feeling sad or not? I don’t really know. Many of my friends didn’t get chosen, it’s like only me. It seems like a waste of time for 3 months but then perhaps I gain something in this 3 months. I don’t really know about it but we’ll see.
One thing I found out that the Balik Pulau Market that we had laksa is vacant right now. It has moved to a new places. The laksa stall is now locate right opposite this old Balik Pulau Market.
It’s just eating food at there. We wanted to look for a Hokkien Mee stall at a housing area which we had visited like many years ago, but we’ve forgotten where it is. After asking for it, it’s located somewhere at Jalan Bahru. I am going to visit that place on my next Balik Pulau trip.
After laksa, we went to somewhere quiet, nice and in the middle of nowhere to eat durian. It’s our first visit to the durian eating house. It’s cool!
