Morning Walk to Patong Beach
Written by Nicholas Chan on June 14, 2009 – 1:10 am -Dad and mom are not really a beach person and they prefer to walk at the stalls selling stuff then to the beach. On the 2nd day of my Phuket trip few months back, I woke up early and went down for a morning walk. If I were to sleep in the hotel, it would have wasted my time, so it’s better to do something useful.
Washed up myself, took my camera, wore a shorts and slippers and out I went. It’s so quiet on the road and most of the stalls were not open at that time. There’s just a little vehicle moving on the road and it’s like only me.
Everything seems so calm and quiet at that time. It’s so unlike the night before where everyone were drinking and shouting at the pubs. The sun was not that hot in the morning, it’s nice walking on the road.
Passed Bangla Road and out to Patong Beach. Some pubs were refilling their beer and alcohol supply in the morning. There’s like so many many beer and demand for it is definitely very high.
While walking passed some pubs, I found some interesting photos pasting on the walls. They are photos of tourists who came to their pubs. It’s pretty cool, don’t you think so. It’s like happy faces everywhere.
Walked across a road and I got to the beach. It’s still quiet.
There’s only a little people walking on the beach and swimming in the sea. The Thais were setting up the umbrella and chairs on the beach. The chairs are to rent for people and it’s 15baht per chair for unlimited time. If you walk away and come back, you have to pay again. It’s so nice to have so many chairs and the beach is pretty clean. It’s so unlike what it is in Batu Feringghi. True. I wonder why Batu Feringghi can’t be like this?
I had my breakfast then at Burger King. =) Yummy!
