Trishaw ride to New World Park

Frankly, this was my first time sitting on the trishaw to a place. Penang trishaw comes in many names, Rickshaw, trishaw, taxicab or locally referred to as beca. It’s a kind of old fashion ride in Penang that you don’t want to be missed. After being in Penang for 16 years, finally I got myself a ride on this trishaw.

From KOMTAR to New World Park is actually very near only. It takes around 20 minutes on foot, we were thinking of walking to there but later we saw the trishaw by the roadside and decided to get a ride on it for fun. Taking the bus ride to New World Park is actually cheaper than the trishaw, the guy charges us RM2 per person and there’s 3 of us. For the sake of fun and don’t want to walk, we hopped on, 3 person squeeze into the tiny seat which is actually for 2 only.

The three of us were Wallace, Min Xiang and me. Thanks trishaw man! It took less than 10 minutes for us to reach New World Park on this little vehicle.

I wonder will there be any trishaw man in the future, it’s all the old man right now and I don’t see young man. Hopefully, this tradition will be last forever.
