I am in Kuala Lumpur right now
Written by Nicholas Chan on December 6, 2008 – 12:12 am -It’s holiday people and I am away from home to do a little trip down to the capital, KL. Nothing special to me because I visits to Kuala Lumpur like every year end’s break. The last trip to Kuala Lumpur was during the one week break in August.
In car entertainment is always sufficient to me. Didn’t have much time or just say I was lazy to convert some videos into the iPod. I slept kinda late last night and wake up very early and some of the time during the road trip was sleeping and the rest was watching Diggnation podcast on the iTouch and listening to some music. I brought a book with me but I read nothing from it.
First stop in Kuala Lumpur was not the above place (Stesen Kereta Api or simply known as the railway station). I did went to Puchong to drop grandma at aunt’s house only then we went to the railway stesen in the city.
The road here is just like a maze, flyover here and there, no turn, one way, two way, roundabout which is so hard to find our way around.
At one part of our drive, the traffic police stopped dad’s car. Dad turned into a lane that he was not allow to turn in but nothing happened in the end, no bribe, no summon because dad lie about being the first time in Kuala Lumpur and ask for a chance. Anyway, the policeman was so kind to guide dad way around the city.
Brother came to Kuala Lumpur by a express bus from Singapore and we went to fetch him at the stesen kereta api or railway station, that’s where most of the express bus arrive in Kuala Lumpur.
Boring-ness, irritate-ness came to us when we were stucked in a one hour and thirty minutes jam on Jalan Hang Tuah which is just a turn into Jalan Bukit Bintang and that’s where our hotel is. The traffic was so so so slow and it didn’t move even the light turned green. Pity dad who was driving the car. Kuala Lumpur really have a bad traffic control system. I’ve even live post a photo from this place at my Go Blog.
The time was around 3 and 4 o clock and I believe it’s not peak hour but the traffic was so bad. Parked the car in the hotel and have decided not to go anywhere by car, the road in front of the hotel was the same, jamming till the night.
While walking, window shopping, real shopping around Pavilion, I met Alvin Yang, schoolmate, friend and blogger there. He is in Kuala Lumpur at the moment too. Talked and chit chat around for some time.
The whole afternoon and evening were spent in the mall and the traffic jam. There’s something went on outside the mall at night but it was too crowded. Took only some photos and I went for dinner. Stay tuned and I will be writting on that soon.
The Starbucks Coffee that was there on Bukit Bintang is now not there, so the nearest one is on the top of Pavilion but I’m too lazy to climb, I mean take the lift. Currently sitting by the window of my hotel room, stealing the nearest free open wifi. The signal is low so I am not able to move around freely.
If we goes according to the plan, tomorrow will be doing some home decor shopping at Ikea and other stuff at The Curve, Damansara.
