What I think about Penang Times Square

When I heard about Penang Times Square four years ago, I was very excited because “Look, now we, Penangite get our Times Square. No need go to Kuala Lumpur already.” All the Times Square are shopping mall, it’s nothing like the Times Square with a lot of LED Billboard, big screens and lights in New York City.

Penang Times Square, something like Roppongi Hill in Tokyo which is an integrated property development with living, shopping, working all under one roof.

Personally, it look small on the outside compare to what’s in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. The design for Phase 1 The Birch Plaza which is the shopping mall is quite nice but the condominium on top is ugly when you are comparing with the one on top of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Why there’s so many condominium and there’s so little of retail shopping lot?

Perhaps when Phase 2 and 3 will have a better looking structure than before. Sooner, when it’s open, the place I would alight will be at Penang Times Square instead of at Komtar bus terminal. It’s a straight line from my school to KOMTAR and Penang Times Square is in between.

Are you looking forward? It’s good to have mall shopping malls in town right now but then the look of it is important. I’m just talking cock here.

One more thing I want to tell you that, I was taking the bus last week and eventually I told the bus driver I want to stop at Times Square and he was like “HUH?”. =)
