Last weekend, I went to Penang Gurney Plaza to buy some stuff and saw a board writing the names of the new stores that will be opening in the extension wing that is still under construction. It says that it will be opened in Noverber 2008. So let’s wait and see. I love to see more new shops opening here. What interest me is the restaurants because I love to eat!

Central World Shopping Mall, Bangkok

Written by Nicholas Chan on July 30, 2008 – 12:43 am -

It started off a walk from the 4 faces buddha at the opposite then to a pedestrian bridge via Gaysorn building and we came to the Central World Shopping Mall. Saw this mall when I first visited Bangkok but then I did not went in to do the shoppings, it was under renovation and at the moment, the mall look new.

Bangkok Street

A view from the bridge, Bangkok is full of cars and traffic jam all the time on weekdays. At the background, you see a tall building and it’s the tallest building in Bangkok, it’s not a office building but the Baiyoke Sky Hotel.

Bangkok by you.

Sausage

There’s huge sausage selling outside the mall, it’s too big until I felt it’s disgusting. It’s pork too, but for 10baht=RM1, it’s cheap because my school’s canteen also selling sausage at RM1 per sausage.

Central World by you.

Coconut by you.

It’s July and you know, the weather is hot and need to drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration. Haha, we found coconuts outside the mall, the coconut juice was so chilling and cool. Thailand is always famous for coconut.

Cab by you.

It’s so special to see one or two roofless golf cart like vehicle moving around in the mall. Most probably you will see it in the airport ferrying staff from terminal to terminal. But at Central World, it’s like a free taxi for shoppers. I wanted to go to Muji Store, the driver then asked us to get on and ferry us to the escalator and told us the direction. It would be bored driving around the mall for whole day but it’s a good service. Haha.

Zen by you.

Didn’t bought a lot of things there, gifts mostly and didn’t really got the chance to go into every shops because most of the time we were in Zen World, the classy tenant supermarket.

If you like shopping in Bangkok, check out this Central World and also Siam Paragon too. Not much shopping mall there, it’s not like Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong where there’s so many malls.

4 Faces Buddha at Erawan, Bangkok / Thao Maha Brahma

Written by Nicholas Chan on July 29, 2008 – 12:32 am -

Thailand is famous for shrine and buddhism, there’s a famous 4 faced buddha statue in the heart of Bangkok. They call it the Thao Maha Brahma, I got no idea what it means and I only know that the buddha has 4 faces and buddhist loves to go there to do some prayers. Everytime my dad visit Bangkok will go there or let’s say praying there is one of the reason we visit Bangkok.

I don’t know why the buddha statue there is so special that have four faces.

It’s in the core of the city, where all the malls and hotels are, there’s a Louis Vuitton at the opposite and next to it there’s a lot of designers’ brand too which located inside the Gaysorn building.

My mom told me that there’s a idiotic or mentally problem people who came to destroy the buddha a few years back. It’s a new one now, had been repaired but on don’t know what reason, they cover it up with a white cloth.

I prayed too but without joss stick because I was busy with camera. The praying comes from heart and not the joss stick. =)

There’s a session where you pay for the holy dancer to dance for the buddha. Frankly, those Thai dance is not my type, but as a good deed for god, dad paid for it too.

I’ll conclude that this is a must go in Bangkok. It seems like I have been talking a lot about temples lately. Don’t you think so? Haha

I want one! But then it’s not mine, it’s my brother’s. Does it seems like an advertorial poster to you? Most probably (almost) the best phone in the world, to me. It’s always almost because nothing is perfect.

Early Monday morning in March’s school holiday, we took the subway or so call the MTR to Wong Tai Sin, it’s a few stops from Yau Ma Tei and it’s actually far from my hotel I was staying.

It was just a visit and look around, didn’t bought praying materials, I just did my prayers in my heart. =)

Black and White Saturday

Written by Nicholas Chan on July 27, 2008 – 1:18 pm -

IMG_5378 by you.

It was first started with a colourful Saturday. Yesterday was actually a school replacement day for the Malay’s Hari Raya holiday in October. I was wondering what the MOE is doing, until now only tell us that we had to do the replacement of school day on weekends just for a couple of extended holiday in October. Can’t they just plan properly before that?

Well, don’t tell anyone that I was not at school yesterday. Haha, it’s lame. Woke up pretty late yesterday and went out for brunch.

IMG_5388 by you.

There’s no sun for today and yesterday. Feeling bored and I turned the world colourless. I am colour blinded by the way, I can differentiate some colours. It’s the last day my brother become the driver of us, he had just went back to Singapore.

IMG_5380 by you.

We dropped mom at Gurney Plaza to get her trousers change as the size was wrong. We can’t park our car outside the mall, it’s only for dropping people, we just had to make a big U turn and hopefully mom is done when we are there again.

IMG_5383 by you.

Wondering where the Sun have been to, the sky was and is dull, dark, no rain but windy.

I guess the dull weather explains the mood of everyone. I don’t raining on the weekends but it’s nice to rain on the weekdays. =D

There’s another Saturday schooling day in August, will I be in school on that day? I don’t think so. Beijing Olympic is coming!

Dell’s Monitors Mania

Written by Nicholas Chan on July 27, 2008 – 1:34 am -

Dells by you.

It was the day when the monitors we ordered online arrived at my dad’s office. We didn’t choose to deliver to my house because during the day I am in school and they are at the office, it’s better to send to a place where there’s people all the time. We chose Dell because it’s easier, free delivery and no need to waste petrol to go to the shop to buy.

Dells by you.

The main point is not talking about why I chose Dell because I don’t really do tech talk here, but just to share with you all my monitors are Dell’s.

Dells by you.

Asking me, I already have monitor, why would I buy more? It’s just because office need monitors and my brother who don’t have a monitor for his laptop need one too. He said the screen on his laptop is too small for work.

Posing with the monitor is a must. Now I know this, it’s for the memories when the monitor broke down in the very far future. I hope not.

Afterall, my room has turn to be a computer shop selling computer monitors and notebooks. Haha, a laptop of my brother, mine and dad’s. There’s 5 monitors, one of them is my brother’s, two of them are office’s and another two of them is mine. The good looking monitorFUL room was just there for a day and the next day, all the monitors have gone back to their home. It was just for taking photos. Haha.
