For charity, for victims, for community

It has already been 2 weeks after the Si Chuan earthquake disaster in China. However, there are still a lot or miracles yet to be come. People still bring hope there’s survivors under the rubber and debris. Everyday, every hour, every minute, rescuers at Si Chuan non-stop doing their rescue work, digging out survivors who struggle to live.

While they are not struggling to live, stay awake not to fall asleep, drink their own blood and just bite anything just for staying alive waiting for rescuer to rescue them, what are we doing? It’s impossible for you to say that go help out at Si Chuan because the place is inaccessible right now.

I wish to help too, but when once is short of money, how can one donate money? Seriously, if I had extra cash, I would have donated too. Now I’m wondering what my classmate think about these disaster that happens lately, I went through the list of donation amount class, not much people has donated but that was my mom’s intention to do the donation, I believe they didn’t even tell the parents about this donation collection in school.

Forget about it, do whatever you can, if you can’t folk out money, then Igive some prayers, raise awareness about this among friends and spread it around. Encourage people to help too.

As the chinese proverb goes, 祸不单行, meaning ‘Bad Stuffs Don’t Happen Once, But in a Series, One After Another’ (sorry for the lousy translation) Meanwhile, the promotion of the use of biofuel as the alternative source to petroleum has sparked what the economists called the speculative investment on our basic commodity - food! The demand supply theory is messing up our daily lives, causing inflation in almost everywhere of the world. We may not feel the pinch yet, but the poor people from the Africa Region are feeling the pain. They can hardly afford to feed their people, yet the prices of staple food like rich and flour have been spiking. Even the UN’s world food programme is now fighting a losing battle as it is short of millions of dollars to feed the hungry ones. [my brother yikhung.com wrote a great post about charity]

It’s never too late for charity!

The music video above is a song sang by a group of Hong Kong artist for the victims of Sichuan earthquake. It’s entitled promise and it’s made by Crystal Liu Yi Fei.

Original Title: Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies
Music composed by Wong Ka Kui (1961-1993)
New Lyrics by Andy Lau Tak-Wah

Translation:
How many…How many joy taken away?
How many lives buried in a wink… [Jackie Chan]
Transformed into silence
Tears twinkle on the eyes
Dust and dirt on desolate faces (I rather it’s me)

Needless say… Behind you there is me…
Through rugged future I’ll stay with you [LYF and FBB]
There’s One of you…There’s One of me
Burden’s not a sign of weakness
Walk forward, for surely lies ahead - broaden is the path [Li Bingbing]
(You’ve still got me) [Quartet]
