Hot Saturday

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 30, 2008 – 11:09 pm -

Stupid bus in front of my school, it took so long for a bus to pass by. It tooks like about 45 minutes and the weather was so hot. Sweating away at the bus stop. When the bus comes, and OMG, there’s a lot of people on the bus and can’t get a seat. Have to stand all the way to KOMTAR.

Do you know that Rapid Penang won’t be stopping at KOMTAR Bus Interchange Station? Click here for the new stop.

KOMTAR

I just don’t care. I’m still going for Rapid Penang unless I’m on the run. Other bus company are suckers and hot. So they don’t get my support. Too bad for them. XD

Yi Wei

We went Prangin Mall for lunch and actually I was wanting to to eat the Tom Yam noodle again but then I think I’ve been going there to eat everytime I go Prangin Mall and we had a change and went to Little Oasis. NONO, it’s expensive and so I don’t like it. Stupid taxes made it cost a lot.

Later then, my other friends went to Gurney on the Hin Bus at the KOMTAR interchange while I and Alvin took the Rapid Penang at the new stop in front of Ong Kongsi. It was fast, it comes and goes.

Gurney

My other friends who were on the Hin bus arrived like 10 minutes before us. They were slow! I took a bus from KOMTAR, stop for haircut then took a bus again and to Gurney and, we were just 10 minutes behind. So, it means other bus company is slow!

Sony

Lin Yu Zhong came yesterday, but I went home before he came. I had to go to dinner with my grandma who was celebrating her birthday yesterday. So I got no chance to catch Lin Yu Zhong at Gurney Plaza.

Grandma

Tata, happy birthday my dearest grandma. She seems so so so happy. =D Wee~~~

Malaysia Formula 1 Grand Prix, Sepang Circuit

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 27, 2008 – 11:59 pm -

For the first time, I went to the Sepang Circuit at Sepang to see the Malaysia F1 Grand Prix. I am not a fan of Formula 1, I once know Michael Shumacher and he is retired now and now I know about some new names. Watching it at home is pretty bored, running the track repeatly for about 50-60 laps. Interesting part is when the car crash but I did not see any in Malaysia.

But then as for the Singapore GP Night Street Race at September, I think I will be watching it on TV. It’s the first night race and it’s running on the street in Singapore city. It will be cool as it will be passing Singapore Flyer, Durian Esplanade and some other cool places in Singapore.

Back to Malaysia. Singapore race still has a long way to go. We arrived there at around 3 as there’s a long traffic jam on the way to the track. Cars were everywhere. We were late! The race started at 230pm and we were there in the middle of the race.

Don’t care, I still got a chance to see the race and listen to the sound. I saw people on the grass with umbrella and video cam mounted on a tripod although it says no video cam is allow. Nobody cares though.

We were sitting far from the podium and grand stand area, we were at some corner where it’s not excited because the car slow down at corner. No chance to see the fastness. People were selling earplug out there for RM5 and I got my noise canceling headphone for free where I brought it there with me and with my iPod plug in it. It did a good job on reducing the noise of the car.

Alvin were busy shooting away and so as I. The best part of watching F1 live at the circuit is to feel the loudness of the car engine. You won’t feel the real sound even if you have a good home theater system at home. The real loud sound at the track was so much louder than you watch on TV.

If I am not wrong, Malaysia is the hottest country for F1. Since Singapore is holding a night race, so it wouldn’t be so hot. It wasn’t so sunny that day, but a umbrella helps a lot. Luckily my friend brought a umbrella or else I will become a black when I came home.

Little group shot after the race. Introducing Cheong from the left, no need say and that’s me, Chien Chern, Nerry, Alvin, Liang Sun and Ernie.

Cheong eventually found a Indian who is an India Force fan wearing the same shirt with him and he asked us to help takes his pictures with the India Force fan.

And we went back right after the race ends. No chance seeing the Pit Babes or known as GP Girls to my friends because we were late. Teacher say if we want to see the Pit Babes, we have to be there early, before the race started. Too bad. Haha! The line down to the carpark was long and we waited like half an hour waiting for the traffic jam to get better before we took the hot-con bus to hotel.

Overall, it was an experience watching a live F1 show. Next is I want to see Singapore’s, see how good is their track. I think I should go again next year and hopefully no more hot-con bus. XD

Unforgetable trip to Sepang

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 27, 2008 – 12:44 am -

The bus is a motherphucker! I hate you the bus. It’s an ac bus without ac!

The gate at the side of the school was locked and people don’t want to walk a big round. They just climbed over it. It look so much like Prison Break or student playing truant. Haha

Last weekend, Sunday, I went to Sepang with my school’s robotic club members. I am not a robotic club member, but since there’s extra places for outsider so here I go joining them to see the Malaysia Formula 1 Grand Prix at Sepang. I was staying at Mid Valley Cititel. This trip was really cheap, the entrance fee to Sepang Circuit was free and I only paid for the transportation and accomdation, it’s RM65 per student.

Gaying in bus. Bus driver was not a good driver because he did not check the bus the day before and the air-con was dead. There’s fan without cool air. It’s getting hotter and hotter in the bus. According to my friends, they noticed that the temperature in the bus is between 35-40 degree celcius which was hotter than the outside temperature. I actually bought a jacket with me as I thought that it would be cold on the bus, but then you know what happened.

Please imagine you are sitting in a enclosed bus with a few hole for air ventilation, 35 degree celcius and you are sweating like crazy. Whole shirt is wet and perspiration of sweat dropping down, wetting the seats. I won’t forget this journey! Bad experience. If 30 minutes to 60 minutes without AC, I can stand it, but what about 5-6 hours sitting in the bus?

Even with topless, not wearing shirt, it’s still hot. Good to the bus because it smells “good” now with our sweats everywhere. Congratulation to the bus uncle.

Eventually, we do climb up to gasp some cool air at the air ventilation hole above the bus. At least it helps a little bit.

Worst, the bus driver did not get the ac fixed by the 2nd day and we went back home in a moving sauna. Oh gosh. I know the bus number, B36 Bus Sekolah. Muahaha. I even sent a message to the complain line but the only reply was “We will look into the matter and this message is charge at RM0.50″. LOL, wasted RM0.50.

超难忘的旅程!

The Peak 山顶

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 25, 2008 – 11:18 pm -

I jump jump jump all the blog post for the Hong Kong trip 2 weeks ago. I got hell lots of photo to upload. This is a the negative part of loving photograph. I took over 2000 photos during the trip and I have to view it all, choose nice one and upload to the net to share with you all.

Anyway, forget bout the upload part. On the very 2nd day of my trip in Hong Kong, we went to join the half day city tour which was complimentary from Cathay Pacific. I hate tour, because they will take you to all the souvinier shops and buy buy buy. But since it’s free, so we just take it.

Peak

Well, The Peak was actually the last stop of the half day city tour. I haven’t talk about before at Repulse Bay, Hong Kong Chai and straight jump to The Peak. Don’t mind right? Hehe.

The Peak is like Penang Hill but of course it’s cooler than Penang Hill. Besides just looking around at the view of Hong Kong from the toppest part of the island, you can do some little shopping at the small shopping mall on top and drink some coffee there. Or visit the wax musuem. I did and I gonna talk about it soon. Hehe. Took a lot of pictures in wax museum.

Hong Kong is a nice city with many high rise building and residential, but the bad part is it’s hazy all the time. You can hardly get a good view of the whole city, unless after a torrential downpour.

Even though there’s sun shine, it doesn’t really heat up because of the cool air moving around. Love that weather so much. If Penang Hill is well maintain like The Peak, for sure I will go there when I’m free, for fun! XD

After wax museum, camwhoring everywhere, we took the furnicular train down hill straight to the city. Penang here also have furnicular train at Penang Hill but it’s older. The one at The Peak is real clean and spacious.

The special part is the train serve just like a public transport instead of just taking tourist/people up and down hill. There’s 4 stop in between which let’s passenger to alight on different roads and too, Hong Kees can pay with their own touch and go card, the Octopus on the train. A little walking from the last stop or the Peak Tram station, you will arrive in Central.

Manchester United vs Liverpool

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 23, 2008 – 11:14 pm -

Tell you what, I am not a fan of football but I an all time supporter of Manchester United Football Club. Currently sitting in a pub or restaurant at Mid Valley Megamall there with some friends that go to see the F1 with me today. They are real football addicts, superfan and siao kia. They just shout so loud and it made me laugh because I am not shouting.

I’m just sitting there, reading some news on the net and chatting. Is football really that interesting? I don’t know, but they are really into the game. They seem enjoy it a lot, but not me. They know almost everything about football, what league what league and I only know some famous one.

At this moment, it’s MU 3 - Liverpool nil. They are shouting like crazy.

Anyway, going to watch Shutter at the cinema later. =)

Chung Ling High School Cross Country Run

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 22, 2008 – 8:58 pm -

Every year, our school held a cross country run event at Youth Park-Botanical Garden-Jesselton area and of course I did take part in this event. It’s actually compulsory to all the student in school in order to receive the 20 marks in the Physical Education. Of course not every one joined the run though, with exception of those weak student, uniformed unit members that duty.

Our school held this event on last Friday, and so we did not go to school but to run walk.

In order not to let other students running out course to other places, attendance was needed, twice. Before the run and after the run.

Eventually, many run and many were behind walking, I was part of the walking group though. This year was different, last time I ran and walk, but this year I just walk. I bought my camera with, and I was talking cock with my friends.

The run walk was like 8-10km. Just almost same as the Penang Bridge Marathon that I joined last year. That one, I ran. It took me bout 70-80 minutes to finish the thing. But for my school’s cross country, it took us 2 hour of walking. Woah. Every one were back at the finish point but not us.

We did group shots at Botanical Garden and some other places. Peoples were looking at us. Haha.

The fun part was us singing with Leo Ku’s 12 minutes song 劲歌金曲 when we were reaching the finish line.

Chung Ling High School Cross-Country Run #

The boring and exciting part was the lucky draw session. It was boring to me because I did not have a lucky draw coupon so I went home with some other friends. In order to receive a lucky draw coupon, one must be in top 120 and also for students and teachers who have collected RM300 for the school teacher-parent association fund. Thousands of people have the coupon, but only a few people will walk away with the prize. The person who get the prize must be luckFUL. LOL.

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 20, 2008 – 1:03 pm -

Causeway Bay in my room

I bought a road name plate from Hong Kong. Haha. It’s cost 20HK$ (RM8.17) for 1. Quite cool right? Sooner, when I’m bored with Causeway Bay, I’ll turn to the other side where there’s Nathan Road. Haha.

p/s: 1 thing, i did not go buy the 2nd monitor for dual setup, it’s my brother’s which he is not using now, so i took it. haha

Written by Nicholas Chan on March 20, 2008 – 12:43 pm -

Petrol

Who say Malaysia’s petrol is expensive? Malaysia’s Premium Unleaded petrol price is RM1.92 per litre. Hong Kong is 15.09HK$ = RM6.16. What do you think? We Malaysia very good already, the price is still cheaper than Singapore and Thailand. =(

Update:Many people have been shooting me with the comments. I was wrong. Why price hike? Damn it.
