Go Over Sea
Written by Nicholas Chan on January 20, 2008 – 11:56 pm -I stay in Penang ISLAND, and always stuck inside this little island which is not fully developed yet as I can say. Sometimes, I felt boring too, there’s only 2 + (1) shopping malls in Penang. The Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall, Prangin Mall is really very bored or need to buy something that only can get there that time, I’ll only go. We need more shopping malls in Penang or maybe park for recreation.
In Singapore, there’s many shopping malls, almost every subtown has a few but not one shopping mall. That’s super duper cool although most of the shopping malls sell the same thing one.
I didn’t go overseas, out the country today, but OVER the SEA via a bridge to the other part of Penang on the mainland which is still developing more behind than Georgetown.

Took a 20 minutes drive to Auto-City, Prai to look for lunch today. It’s my first time being there and I always wanted to go there one day as I heard there have a lot of nice restaurants and a place for people to hang out during some events.
Seriously, there’s quite a number of restaurants there. Over 15? I think so and yes, it’s a good spot to hang out but not for people like me. I’m too young for this. Haha, or maybe 18 months later after I get my driving license? Then, I’ll definitely go visit every restaurant there. I think that time, a new shopping mall will pop up - Penang Times Square. =)

After lunch at Auto-City, I went to Sunway Carnival Mall at Seberang Jaya, which also 20 minutes drive from Auto-City, or less. It’s a new mall, opened since last year. I was shocked when I was there because the mall is really small. Smaller than Singapore’s West Mall and it’s like Junction 8. Not a fun place to hang out, takes not very long time and you can finish walking around the mall.
Went there like 1 hour, then went back to the island. All the way home, I took a sweet nice nap in the car.
Let’s hope more new fun places to be pop up in Penang Island and also the Mainland there.

Agreed! During December, I went over to Sunway Carnival Mall and it was horribly small - it has just 3 stories, plus a basement with very few food outlets
the cinema is quite nice though, I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks there, heh
