Batu Feringhi Night Market
Written by Nicholas Chan on January 12, 2008 – 1:04 am -Thursday was a public holiday here in Malaysia. It’s good having so many race in Malaysia, because we gets a lot of religious public holiday. I heard that schools are applying for a 12 days holiday for Chinese New Year. If that approved, that wil be cool.
Last night, after dinner at Tanjong Bungah, I suggested to go for a walk at Batu Ferringhi. It had been a long time we went to Batu Ferrighi, so we went there to walk around and there’s another reason as I want to buy some DVDs there, since the “DVD” there is pretty cheap.
I bought Lost season 1 and trying to watch all so I can catch up with Season 4. I’ve watched Season 2 and 3, but not 1.
The night market there is very famous among the tourist, nothing much special to locals except for buying the cheap “CDs and DVDs”. It made me had a feeling that I was in Thailand, because stuff there are most likely the same at Thailand’s night market but then Thailand has a wider range of things to buy.
Not only DVDs and CDs, they sell non-original video games too. Trying to tell foreigner that their games sell are cheaper.
Seriously, nothing sells there is original. A lot of imitation product with brands like LV, Gucci, Coach and more. I think you better save more money to buy the real one althought it’s just the same as the imitate one, I’m sure you get a better feeling when you buy an original product then an imitate one, you get good support and service too!
They got Billabong, Nike, Adidas, Puma, Zoo York, Stussy and a lot of branded brands’ Tee. I think Thailand will be cheaper then here in Penang. I once bought 3 for only 100baht (RM10). Cheap right? Here I don’t know how much.
I’m happy that Penang has this kind of night market at tourist area, why not have something like this in town?
