Penang Floral Festival

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 28, 2007 – 12:26 pm -

Yesterday, when the rain stopped, I went to the Penang Floral Festival with my mom and grandma. They wanted to buy some plants and planting material and this gives me chance to shoot. Wakaka. Holycrap, there were quite many people can traffic jam.

This festival also use to attract tourist to come to Penang. Don’t worry if you miss the fun yesterday, this festival runs from 27th May to 3rd June. Morning 9am to 8pm. XD But remember bring towel and wear sport shoes, cause there is 2 site need to climb up. I didn’t climb though, my mom don’t want to and because we were not in sport shoes.

This floral festival is at Penang Botanical Garden or some locals call it “At waterfall there”. Saw a lot of pro with their DSLR shooting here and there. Join the fun la, I also shoot, not going to post those in this post. XD

I just went to the plants selling site, and went into Botanical Garden.

According to one of the auntie that sell flower, she say when morning that time was extremely jam and road block because of the opening ceremony. Luckily, I went in the afternoon, just a little jam for my mom.

If you parked at their carpark, you can hop on to their provided shuttle bus that drives you straight to Botanical Garden. But take note, 5xmom says the parking rate is RM3.00. Waa.

Hello Shaz

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 27, 2007 – 2:27 pm -

This is Shaz

I said hi to Shaz. Ok, this is about my meet up with Shaz who is from KL and other bloggers for the first time. I was quite shy, I don’t know what to talk there, I think because I am the youngest among them then shy shy lor. But they are funny and very friendly.

I went to Gurney Plaza yesterday afternoon, and meet up with them at the basement. When they saw me, they were like “HUH?”, I think this is because “Are you sure this little boy is Nicholas?”. Haha! I know I am tiny, but yes that is me, tiny and I blog. We went to Fish & Co, I had eaten so I didn’t order anything. But a glass of Kola Tonic.

Dragon Head and Chee Hsien.

I miss the prank they did on Shaz, that time I still on the bus to Gurney Plaza.

Erlynda and Sukidayo.

Somethings very cool about blogger I noticed is, they bring the camera everywhere they go, when food comes, really all of us, takes the camera out and shoot the food. Sometimes, passers-by might think, “They siao eh ar(Are they crazy)? Food also want to take picture.” I think this is cool.

Koolz

We introduce ourself to each other. I damn shy la, all bigger than me there. I didn’t know Cedric was there, he came last, and he looks familiar, so I just not sure whether is he, but I know he is. Muahaha.

Chee Hsien and camera.

Who were there actually?
Shaz, Minny, Erlynda, Koolz, Holyboy(Edward), Sukidayo, DragonHead, Chee Hsien, Cedric and of course me!

Thanks Shaz for the Kola Tonic, although it is free from your credit card, if it had not been your credit card, it would not be free already. Thanks!

Low Tide Is Fugly

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 26, 2007 – 5:23 pm -

Low tide destroyed the view of Gurney Drive! Yuck, fugly. You can see rubbish, mud and sometimes snakes. Yes, I saw snakes before, they camouflage into the colour of the mud. This photo just point and shoot only. (:

Bus Journey

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 26, 2007 – 5:11 pm -

Yay, today is my 3rd time taking the bus to elsewhere. This time is also the first time sitting in an air-con bus going back to my house.

The AC just suck, open like didn’t open like that, inside was like freaking hot. After don’t-know-how-long only can feel a bit of the cool air. I took the bus in town (KOMTAR, secondary main station), you can’t expect the bus to go when you hop on, because the driver need to make sure the bus is full only can go. So sometimes need to wait very long, sometimes you get in just in time. Today I waited awhile, like 10 minutes like that.

The bus was vandalized and dirty. If you see into the picture, you can see wire on top which is suppose to be the button to press for dropping off. The glass screen is dirty and one last thing again, the AC is not really working.

I just hope the new bus service by RapidPenang launching in 1st August 2007 will be better than these a lot!

Chili’s Open In Penang

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 26, 2007 – 4:16 pm -

The first American’s Chili’s Grill & Bar opens in Penang Gurney Plaza! Wow, I just can’t wait to go try out the food. Today went to Gurney Plaza and saw it’s open and a lot of people there. A banner showing Training In Progress, I think it’s like in BETA testing.

Ok, this banner hanging shows that it will officially open on 28th May 2007 which is on tomorrow Monday. I must go try out this holiday then I’ll tell you guys nice or not.

Chili’s is at Gurney Place, beside Gurney Plaza, outside G Hotel next to Breeks.
