Wesak Day Parade in Penang

Written by Nicholas Chan on May 2, 2007 – 12:22 pm -

Yesterday I went to Wesak Day Parade for the celebration of this holy event. We walked from Jalan Burmah to Penang Buddhist Association and then walk back to Jalan Burmah. Took 3 hours, from 7pm till 10pm. With floral floats, and crowds, cheering and snaping photos. Monk spraying holy water, and slogan from different associates were shouted.

I bought flowers to pay respect to Lord Buddha.
There was this wishing well.
One of the floats before the parade starts.
The first squad.

Very tired.
I am with Fo Yi and then later Him Keat join us.
And some times, we stopped and waited all the floral floats to pass by and we snap picture.
And then we like rushing and running back to join back them (Fo Yi) infront.
Sweating, Wet.
But funn.
Saw Jin Jie on the way, and some other friends.
Yun Sean shouted at me but I didn’t hear it. Haha.

This is me with the Foyi people, not Digi YcF, hahaha.

Happy Wesak Day! Visit Penang next year to see this wonderful event.
